To fit a control valve with a flat seal, a CIAT connector
is necessary (fig.11b). The CIAT hydraulic connectors
are equipped with a flange to maintain the gasket in
position during tightening. The table (fig.11d) gives the
CIAT recommendations concerning the gaskets.
To not deteriorate this connection or the valve, do not
apply tightening torque higher than 3.5 daN.m.
Strictly respect the valve assembly direction (fig.11c).
On CIAT valves, the water circulation must be from
A to AB (A being connected on the battery side and
AB on the hydraulic pipework side). The acceptable
maximum differential pressure on our valves (opened
or closed) is 100 kPa. For optimal operation, we advise
you not to exceed 60 kPa.
It will be necessary to insulate the pipework and
to ensure perfect tighntness at both ends to avoid
condensation risks when using chilled water.
Figure 12 gives you some examples of connections
depending the unit model.
We advise installers against the use of PER piping for
connections of water and/or electrical coils. In case of
coil overheating, an important rise in temperature is
possible leading to a rapid deterioration of the PER up
to blow-out. We advise to connect the coil by means
of a flexible connection with a stainless steel braid (or
similar).
Design and rinsing of the hydraulic pipework are
two prerequisite factors for the correct operation of
the installation. Envisage well placed and sufficient
number of drainage valves, mud pots, effective system
of filtration on water supply and water returns, drains
correctly installed at upper part of the piping, balancing
t-pieces on each terminal unit, discharge valves if
necessary. Take time to carry out a complete rinsing
of the installation and treat water to avoid network
clogging.
Drain pan
Condensed water (irrespective of the position of
the CV1D or CH41D unit) is evacuated via the left end
of the main platform (16 mm outer diameter cylindrical
outlet) provided for this purpose (fig.3, pos.13b).
• CV1D vertical model
For the CV1D model , the condensates from the main
platform are connected to the vertical auxiliary
pan via a flexible condensate connection. The
condensate water is then evacuated through a flexible
connection under the auxiliary pan (fig.13).
Another possibility : after shutting off the valves (source
of condensates) and blocking the vertical auxiliary pan
outlet, you can remove the condensates from the main
platform directly to the rear of the unit (fig. 15).
The rear face is fitted with pre-cut holes for the piping
crossing (fig.14, 15).
• CH41D horizontal model
The auxiliary condensate pan for the CH 41D
model (supplied separately) must be mounted between

the platform and the auxiliary pan of the CV1D (always
present) as shown on figures 17 to 22. Remember to
fasten the pan as shown in fig. 21, in order to level it
correctly.
The drainage pipework can be separate for each
unit or connected to a main drain. Use a transparent &
rigid drain tube, with a minimum slope of 1 cm/m and
a constant difference in level along its path. Provide a
siphon of at least 5 cm to prevent gas or unpleasant
odours discharge.
Opening the grille
To open the grille, take the hook (fig. 16), raise it
slightly and pull it towards you.
Drain pump assembling
A drain pump can equip a MAJOR2 CH41D terminal
unit. The technical characteristics are : 10W, 8l/h
maximum flow rate, 6m maximum water height.
Connect the pump's drain piping ( a transparent 6 mm
internal diameter pipe) to the drainage pipework of
your installation.
Caution: this piping must not be pinched or in contact
with the terminal unit or with external element.
Do not pull excessively on drain piping to prevent
disconnection from the block pump (leakage risk).
Wiring following the supplied electrical drawing.

Electrical wiring

Before connecting the unit to the mains, make sure that
the voltage is the same as that indicated on the unit
nameplate (230V - 1ph - 50Hz). The connections to the
mains should comply with the applicable installation
regulations. The unit must be earthed. We cannot be
held responsible for accidents due to incorrect or non-
existent earthing. The wiring must respect the supplied
electrical drawing.
For customer applications, the electrical diagram is to
be drawn up from the generic diagrams provided:
- Wiring of the unit in 2-pipe or 4-pipe system (fig.25)
- Wiring of the unit in 2-pipe + electric with 1 or 2
heaters (fig.26).
CIAT recommends to use a control on water for the
appliance (acting on the valve(s) and the electric
battery).
Caution:
The BLACK, BLUE and RED wires must never be
interconnected (terminals 2, 3 & 4). The electrical
terminal strip is located in the right inner side of the
unit. To access to this terminal strip remove the casing
(see «casing disassembly » ).
Modification of the motor electrical wiring :
The terminal unit is equipped with a 7-speed motor and
3 speeds are pre-wired in the factory. To access to the
electrical box :
Remove the casing to access to the motor fan
assembly.
- To modify the wiring, simply remove the power supply
