4. Operating instructions
Before entering the following settings, wait until there are numerical readings in all fields of the LCD display.
a) °C / °F Selection
Press the °C / °F button on the back to display the temperature in °Celsius or °Fahrenheit.
b) Setting time and date
The radio controlled clock receives the precise DCF time broadcast and will automatically adjust itself to the correct
time. Depending on your location, it may take several hours for the signal to be received by the base unit. Follow
these instructions to adjust the time manually while the base station is searching for the signal. If you are in an area
that does not receive the time signal, your clock will operate as a normal non-RC digital clock.
• Press and hold the TIME SET button for 3-4 seconds until the year is flashing.
• Press UP or DOWN to set the year.
• Press TIME SET, the month will be flashing.
• Press UP or DOWN to set the month.
• Press TIME SET, the date will be flashing.
• Press UP or DOWN to set the date.
• Press TIME SET, the hour will be flashing.
• Press UP or DOWN to set the hour.
• Press TIME SET, the minutes will be flashing.
• Press UP or DOWN to set the minutes.
• Press TIME SET, 12 hr will be flashing.
• Press UP or DOWN to select 12 or 24 hr timing.
• Press TIME SET twice to lock the settings.
• Press the WAVE / TIME SET button once and the RC signal icon will appear at the top left of the LCD display.
• The unit will begin searching for the DCF time signal.
c) Setting the alarm
• Press and hold the ALM SET button for 3-4 seconds until the hour is flashing and ALARM is shown on the display.
• Press UP or DOWN to set the hour.
• Press ALM SET, the minutes will be flashing.
• Press UP or DOWN to set the minutes.
• Press ALM SET to lock the settings.
• The alarm icon will be displayed above the time and ALARM will no longer appear on the display.
d) Deactivating the Alarm
• When the alarm sounds, press the ALM SET button once to silence the alarm. The alarm icon will continue to be
displayed and the alarm will sound again at the preset time each day until it is deactivated.
• To deactivate the alarm press ALM ON/OFF once. The alarm will be turned off and the alarm icon will no longer
be displayed.
• To reactivate the alarm to signal at the preset time, press ALM ON/OFF once and the alarm icon will again be
displayed.
