Insertion and filling

The grease separator is placed in the pit.
Before filling in the surround, the separator is
filled with clear water until water flows out of
the separator's discharge.
A surround (round gravel, max. grain
8/16mm) is then added in layers, max. 300
mm at a time, up to the top edge of the sepa-
rator and compacted. The individual layers
must be properly compacted with a hand
tamper. Be careful to avoid damaging the
grease separator when compacting the grav-
el. Mechanical compacting machines must
not be used under any circumstances. The
surround must be 200 mm wide.
