1 - INTRODUCTION
The DISCOVERY Comfort is a volumetric instrument
de signed to measure and transfer liquids precisely and
safely. It can measure and transfer volumes from 0.1 μl
to 10000 μl depending on the model.
The DISCOVERY Comfort pipettes are available in two
versions which differ in the shaft color:
DV - the shafts are made in a light grey colour for all
volu mes of pipettes.
D - the shafts are made in red, yellow, green, blue, and
white colour depending on the volume range of the pipette.
The DISCOVERY Comfort pipettes are equipped with
a digital counter which shows the pipetting volume.
The set volume is visible in the window on the handle.
Volume setting is done by turning of the pipetting pushbut-
ton knob (Fig. 1A2) or by turning the adjustment knob
(Fig.1B). The pipette design allows the user to lock the
volume setting by pushing the locking ring upwards
(Fig.1S). The position of the ring is indicated by the sym-
bols located on the handle. The range of the volume of
the aspired liquid is shown on the pipetting pushbutton
(Fig. 1A1).
The DISCOVERY Comfort pipettes are produced in 10
models, covering the volume range from 0.1 μl to 10000 μl.

The liquid is aspirated into disposable tips attached to
the pipette shaft. Disposable tips ensure maximum safety
and eliminate possibility of cross contamination of the
liquid samples.
To protect the user from contaminated tips the
DISCOVERY Comfort is equipped with a built-in tip
ejector, (Fig. 1D).
The construction of the ejector enables the user to set up
its length. The adjustable tip ejector accommodates
most types of tips available on the market. When using
narrow tubes, it may be necessary to remove the tip
ejector.

Tip ejector disassembly (Fig. 6A)
1. Press the tip ejector button.
2. Turn the ejector bush left to the very end.
3. Slide the ejector from the plastic arbor.
Tip ejector assembly (Fig. 6B)
1. Press the tip ejector button.
2. Place the tip ejector on the arbor.
3. Turn the plastic ejector bush right until it's latched.
