Read the complete manual before attempting installation and activating the system.
1. DESCRIPTION
Up to 2 analog external lines and 8 analog internal lines can be connected to the analog telephone exchange. The exchange automatically detects the
connected analog lines and automatically adapts to the line parameters in order to guarantee an optimum sound quality.
The exchange has calling number identification presentation (CLIP) and calling name identification presentation (CNIP) services. You do not have to
make any settings in the exchange. These services have to be activated by your network supplier. Your appliances have to be suitable for these services.
EN
If your network supplier also activates the calling name identification presentation service, the name of the caller can be displayed on any appliance that
is suitable for this function. Names that are included in the abbreviated number list of the exchange, have priority over the calling name identification
presentation service. Even if you do not have the calling name identification presentation, a name that was included in the abbreviated number list of the
exchange, can be displayed.
The exchange is suitable for making individual calls and internal group calls (max. 8 groups to be defined by the user). The exchange is provided with
different ring rhythms, so you can hear the difference between an incoming internal call, an external call on the first external line, an external call on the
second internal line and a group call (5 possibilities) to analog apparatuses. You can also assign a name to every internal line, external line and group in the
exchange. In case of an incoming call, this name is displayed together with the number of the caller (if your apparatus is suitable for this function).
The telephone exchange is provided with day and night setting. You can set different ring tones for an incoming call by daytime and at night. The ex-
change can automatically switch over between day and night setting at the times that were set in the exchange. You can also manually switch between the
configurations by inserting a code on an apparatus.
You can load a personal waiting music of max. 4min 30s in the exchange. The music is played if an external or internal caller is put on hold.
The exchange is provided with a phone book for 500 abbreviated numbers, corresponding name and group to be operated.
An external line preference or blocking can selectively be set for every apparatus, disabling making external calls. You can undo the blocking by
inserting a password.
Thanks to the exchange's 'fax select' function, you can receive both calls and faxes via 1 external analog line (not simultaneously of course). This function
enables you to connect a fax machine to one of the exchange's internal lines.
For internal apparatuses, you can set that an internal or external number (emergency number) is automatically dialed 5s after picking up the receiver.
The telephone exchange is not provided with a built-in intercom interface. For intercom systems, you have to use a separate intercom interface, e.g. a Niko
Access Control telephone interface 10-850.
The telephone exchange is provided with two low-voltage relays that can be controlled by every connected appliance.
You can configure the telephone exchange according to your wishes by means of the supplied configuration program EasySetup. All functions of the
telephone exchange are exhaustively described in this user manual.
What is supplied
• Telephone exchange PABX 2/8
• External power supply adapter 230V AC - 12V DC / 3.3A with mains cord
• CD-ROM with configuration software EasySetup and user manual in Dutch, French and English.

2. INSTALLATION
The telephone exchange has to be mounted in a dry space with an ambient temperature between 0 and 40°C, preferably in the immediate vicinity of the
telephone socket outlet of the network supplier.
Proceed as follows:
- Remove the flush surround plate from the telephone exchange by pushing it up.
- Drill 3 holes in the wall (diameter 6mm): two horizontally next to each other at a mutual distance of 182mm and a third one 178mm lower and in the
middle of the other two.
- Insert the plugs in the drilled holes.
- Screw the 2 upper screws in until they stick out ±6mm.
- Then hang the telephone exchange on the wall over the two upper screws.
- Screw down the lower screw.
182mm
Only connect cables to the telephone exchange if the 230V power supply socket outlet is NOT
plugged in. Only legally approved peripheral equipment can be connected to this telephone
exchange: telephone apparatuses, answering machines, fax machines... (see further).
The installation has to be carried out by a craftsman. The fig. below gives a survey of the
telephone exchange connections. The polarity of the connected analog lines and apparatuses
is of no importance. The 2 wires can change places.
178mm
The contact inputs 'In 1 and 2' can be used as alarm inputs.
