4.5 Wi-Fi settings

Some options are only available in Access
Point mode.
Make all changes to your wireless network in the
Wi-Fi Settings area.
SSID
The SSID specifies the name of your wireless net-
work. You can see this name when logging onto
the Wi-Fi, allowing you to identify the correct Wi-Fi
network.
In the SSID field, enter the name of the Wi-Fi net-
work.
Authentication Method
You should encrypt your Wi-Fi network to prevent
others within wireless range of your network from
being able to gain access and, for example, use
your Internet connection without your permission.
Here, the WPA/WPA2/WPA3 (Wi-Fi Protected
Access) security standard is available.

This method allows for individualised keys consist-
ing of letters and numbers with a length of up to
63 characters. You can simply enter them via the
keyboard.
To do so, activate the WPA-PSK mode in the list
and select the security standard you want to use.
Then enter the corresponding number of charac-
ters into the Wi-Fi Key field.
If the WPS function is activated, the WPA3
encryption mechanism is not usable for techni-
cal reasons.
2.4 GHz Channel/5 GHz Channel
There are 13 channels available in the 2.4 GHz
frequency band. The channels recommended for
Europe are channels 1, 6 and 11. This ensures the
frequency bands of the channels do not overlap
and any connection problems are avoided.
There are 19 channels available in the 5 GHz fre-
quency band.
The channel selection default setting is Automatic.
The devolo WiFi 5 Repeater 1200 regularly and
automatically selects the channels in this setting. In
other words, if the last connected station logs out,
a search for a suitable channel is carried out
