3 Initial use

This chapter covers everything you need to know
to set up your adapter. We provide a description of
how the device is connected and briefly introduce
the devolo software.

devolo WiFi 5 Repeater 1200
In the following sections, we describe how to con-
nect the devolo WiFi 5 Repeater 1200 and inte-
grate it into your Wi-Fi network.

Only use device indoors in dry conditions
For the permitted voltage range for operat-
ing the device and the power consumption,
refer to the type plate on the rear of the de-
vice. For additional technical information on

Plug the devolo WiFi 5 Repeater 1200 into a
power socket near your router for the initial
set-up.

As soon as the Wi-Fi LED flashes orange, the
device is ready to operate. It takes up to
2 minutes from the time the device is plugged
in until this status is reached.
The devolo WiFi 5 Repeater 1200 has two differ-
ent operating modes. It can be operated as a Wi-Fi
