Installation

Installation must only be carried out only by skilled, authorised technicians.
The following procedures should be carried out with the power supply disconnected, unless
indicated otherwise.

Opening the package

If the packing is not obviously damaged (due to dropping or abnormal scrapes and scratches), check the
material contained in it against the list provided in the Package contents section of the Introduction.
The packing materials are completely recyclable. The installer should dispose of them by recycling or
according to the current legislation of the Country where the appliance is used.

Checking the markings

Before proceeding further with installation, check the identification plates to make sure the supplied
material corresponds with the required specifications, as described in the section Identification data.
Never, under any circumstances, make any changes or connections that are not described in this manual:
the use of inappropriate appliances may expose personnel and the system to serious safety hazards.

Switching on and off

Before connecting the power supply:
• Check the identification plates to make sure the supplied material corresponds with the required
specifications, as described in the section Identification data.
• Check that the DCFIT and the other components in the system are switched off so that direct contact
with live parts is impossible.
• The system appliances must rest on a spacious, solid surface
• The power supply cables must not hamper the installer's normal work
• Check that the power supply and any extension cables used are able to handle the system's power
consumption.
SWITCHING ON: First form the connections indicated in the relevant section (page 6) and make sure that
the Configuration Dip Switches and Jumpers are set correctly for the type of system (see page5). Next
connect the power supply (12V=) to the DCFIT. If an SM42A, SM82A, SM84A or SM164A matrix is used to
power the DCFIT, the power supply cables (12V= and GND) must not be more than 50 metres long.
