5.6 Setting the temperature

The appliance is pre-set for normal operation.
The temperature can be set from -15 °C to -28 °C, the recom-
mended temperature is -18 °C.
u To set the temperature higher: press Up button
u To set the temperature lower: press Down button
w When the button is pressed the first time, the previous value
is indicated in the temperature display.
u To change the temperature in 1 °C steps: briefly press the
button.
-or-
u To change the temperature continuously: hold down the
button.
w The value is displayed flashing during the setting operation.
w The actual temperature is displayed approx. 5 seconds after
the button is last pressed. The temperature gradually adjusts
to the new value.

5.7 Fast-Freeze

With this function you can freeze fresh food quickly
through to the core. The appliance operates with
maximum refrigeration. The noise of the refrigeration unit
may be temporarily louder as a result.
You can freeze as many kilograms of fresh food within 24 hrs
as is indicated on the type plate under "Freezing capacity ...
kg/24hrs". This maximum freezing quantity can vary depending
on model and climate class.
Depending on how much fresh food is to be frozen you must
switch Fast-Freeze on in advance - for a small amount of food
to be frozen, about 6 hours, for the maximum amount about 24
hours before putting the food in.
Wrap produce and spread it out as far as possible. Do not allow
produce to be frozen to touch produce that is already frozen to
prevent the latter thawing.
You must not switch Fast-Freeze on in the following cases:

when placing frozen food in the freezer
-
when freezing up to approx. 2 kg fresh food daily
5.7.1 Freezing with Fast-Freeze
u Briefly press the Fast-Freeze button
w The Fast-Freeze symbol
w The freezing temperature drops, the appliance operates with
the maximum cooling capacity.
For a smaller quantity of produce to be frozen:
u wait approx. 6 h.
u Place packaged food in the deep bottom drawers.
For the maximum quantity of produce to be frozen:
u wait approx. 24 h.
u Remove the deep bottom drawers and place the food
directly on the lower trays.
w Fast-Freeze switches off automatically. At the earliest after
30 hours, at the latest after 65 hours, depending on the
quantity placed inside the appliance.
w The Fast-Freeze symbol
freezing process is complete.
u Place the food in the drawers and close them again.
w The appliance continues to operate in the energy-saving,
normal mode.

5.8 Drawers

Note
The energy consumption increases and the cooling perform-
ance reduces if the air ventilation is insufficient.
u Ensure that the air slits of the fan on the rear wall are always
kept free!

back, pull it forwards to remove.

5.9 Tray

5.9.1 Move the tray
u Take out the tray, lift it at the front
and pull out forward.
u Reinsert the tray: simply slide it in
as far as it will go.

5.10 FlexArea

You can remove the shelves as
well as the trays. In this way
you can create space for large
food items, such as poultry and
meat. Large portions of game
as well as tall bakery items
can be frozen whole and then
further prepared.
u The top drawer can hold a max. of 5 kg, and the other
drawers can each hold a max. of 25 kg.
u The trays can each hold a max. of 35 kg of frozen food.

5.11 Extractor rails

u To clean the glass trays, remove
the retractable rails: press
front support hooks upwards (1),
slide the retractable rail away to
one side (2) and backwards (3).
u Replacing the retractable rail:
attach hook at back (1) and
engage at front (2).
