Except for the battery, the instrument contains no parts that can be replaced by personnel
who have not been specially trained and accredited. Any unauthorized repair or replacement of
a part by an "equivalent" may gravely impair safety.

4.1. CLEANING

Disconnect anything connected to the clamp.
Use a soft cloth, dampened with soapy water. Rinse with a damp cloth and dry rapidly with a dry cloth
or forced air. Do not use alcohol, solvents, or hydrocarbons.
Keep the air gap perfectly clean.

4.2. REPLACING THE BATTERY

The battery must be replaced if the ON indicator remains off when the device is switched on.
„ Disconnect anything connected to the clamp and set the switch to OFF.
„ Make sure that there is no conductor in the clamp.
„ Refer to § 1.3.
Spent primary and storage batteries must not be treated as ordinary household waste. Take them
to the appropriate collection point for recycling.

4.3. MANUAL ADJUSTMENT

The manual adjustment serves to adjust the gain of the clamp without using a PC.
4.3.1. EQUIPMENT NECESSARY
„ A 500 Aac, 40 at 60Hz
„ A 400 Aac, 60Hz current generator, accuracy class ≤0.2%
„ A 40 Aac, 60Hz current generator, accuracy class ≤0.2%
„ A voltmeter, accuracy class ≤0.2%
4.3.2. ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
1. First, demagnetize the clamp by clamping a conductor carrying an AC current of at least 500 A
at a frequency between 40 and 60Hz. Then gently withdraw the clamp from the conductor, in which
the current is still flowing.
2. Place the clamp in an ambient temperature of 23 ±2°C. It must not be on a conductor, and the jaws
must be correctly closed. Connect the voltmeter to the output of the clamp.
3. To enter the adjustment mode, hold the DC Zero button down and shift the switch from the OFF
