Series DX-MX/DSX-MSX
Easily handled and ready to use submersible electric pumps particularly suitable for domestic uses or similar (to dry basements, irrigate orchards
and gardens, transfer clear or slightly turbid liquids, etc.).
Female gas threaded delivery union, double hydraulic seal on the drive shaft (mechanical and with lip), motor in oil bath, float switch in the single-
phase version.
Series MX/MSX can convey solid and/or thready particles in suspension thanks to the retracted open impeller.
Series DA/DSA
Easily handled and ready to use submersible pumps for drainage, with the typical constructional features of building site pumps. Suitable for both
GB
permanent installation and portable use.
Male gas threaded delivery union, hydraulic seal on the drive shaft (mechanical), motor in oil bath.
Available for high heads (series DAD/DSAD) and for use with abrasive fluids, featuring an wear plate coated with rubber (series DAU/DSAU).
Series DR/DSR
Submersible electric pumps for use on building sites or general heavy duty when clear, turbid and slightly abrasive fluids need lifting. The parts
subject to wear are coated in urethane rubber and can be quickly and easily replaced (with the exclusion of DRN models). Adjustment device in
order to recover the hydraulic performances.
Delivery union with hose coupling, double mechanical seal on the drive shaft with oil chamber, motor in dry chamber with class F insulation (Tmax =
155°C or310°F).
SeriesMA/MSA
Easily operated and ready to use submersible pumps to convey sewage with solids and/or thready particles in suspension. Suitable for both
permanent installation with automatic coupling and portable use.
Female gas threaded delivery union (MAV15T4 excluded), hydraulic seal on the drive shaft (mechanical), motor in oil bath. Hydraulics available with
open retracted impeller (series MAV/MSAV) or single-channel impeller (series MAM/MSAM).
SeriesMAT
Electric submersible pumps with shredder are able to raise water containing solid or fibrous matter shredding them into very fine particles.
The pumps are available both for submersed automatic coupling or portable version.
The pump out is female threaded, the shzft is fitted with double mechanical seal with oil chamber in between (MAT 11... excluded), motor chamber
is oil filled.
3.2
Unadvisable uses: ATTENTION
The submersible electric pumps are not suitable for:
- dry operation;
- operation where air is intaken owing to an excessively low liquid level in relation to the suction parts;
- liquids with a temperature exceeding 40°C (104°F);
- an immersion depth exceeding 20 m;
- pumped liquids with a pH value of other than 6-10 (5-8 for series D/DS, excluding DXN07/DSXN07);
- liquid foods (consult Caprari S.p.A. for use in this sector);
- for pumping liquid cement or other highly abrasive fluids of an equivalent type.
- pumping inflammable liquids;
- operation in places with a classified risk of explosion.
Not all submersible electric pumps are suitable for:
- continuous operation with the electric motor uncovered;
- operation in a closed place for longer than 3 minutes since this could cause the electric motor to overheat (only in relation to series DR/DSR).
Also check that the product conforms to any pertinent local laws.

STORAGE AND HANDLING:

Store the pump in a dry and dust-free place.
Avoid instability which could be caused by wrongly positioning the product.
Turn the rotating parts at regular intervals to prevent them from jamming (consult the "Preliminary inspections" chapter for the relative procedure).
ATTENTION
For safe storage after a previous installation, the electric pump must be thoroughly cleaned (never use hydrocarbon based products
for this purpose).
The electric pump must be handled with care. Use suitable lifting means in compliance with the safety provisions in merit, gripping it by
the relative lifting points (handles, eyebolts).
Consult the "Dimensions, weights and technical data" chapter in order to identify the weight of the product.
Never ever use the powering and grounding cables for handling purposes.
Never subject the cables to sharp bends (the minimum radius of the bend must be more than 5 times the diameter of the cable itself).
The free ends of the cables must never be immersed or wetted in any way.
5

INSTALLATION:

Dispose of the packing material as established by the local laws in merit. Do not litter.
5.1
Preliminary inspections:
ATTENTION
The product may only be installed after a few simple inspections have been made.
If oil leaks are noted after a long period of inactivity, check that the electric pump contains the right quantity of oil. If this is not the first installation,
also check that there are no impurities and/or water (consult the "Maintenance" chapter).
Always check that the pump-motor rotor is free to turn. Do this by slightly tilting the pump to one side or hang it from a lifting means.
Now start the motor for a few seconds. Take great care, since kick-backs on start-up could be a safety hazard.
5.2
Plant features:
If the electric pump must operate in sandy and/or muddy conditions, it should be set on a solid base while the suction mouth must be at such a
distance from the deposited material as to prevent entrainment.
Check that the fluids pumped by electric pumps type M/MS have no solids in suspension able to clog the pump hydraulics. Install a screen if
necessary (check the free passage of the hydraulic part in the "Technical, operative features and fields of use" chapter).
If electric pump operation is not manned, install automatic monitoring systems able to stop the machine when the operative conditions are no longer
ensured (consult the "Unadvisable uses" chapter).
If the electric pumps are installed in accumulation tanks and toxic gas could develop, it will be necessary to guarantee sufficient ventilation in order
to prevent stagnation.
