C
onneCtion of turnouts And signAls
The enclosed flat plugs are used to connect turnouts and signals with the eight threefold
plugs. The centre terminal is the common return circuit, the two outer terminals are the
switching exits (see circuit diagram). Terminal "+" corresponds to the position "green"
or "straight" respectively, while exit "-" is for the position "red" or "turn off" respectively.
Instead of one double coil drive, you may also connect two decouplers to one terminal.
Motor drives can only be indirectly controlled by the eightfold module, for example by
means of a relay 10019, because the eightfold module is unable to reverse polarity.
See fig. 2 and 3 at page 2

rogrAmming
For the function of the module it is necessary to program it after connection.
There is a common programming for all eight terminals with eight subsequent ad-
dresses, beginning with 001 to 008 (keyboard 1, turnouts 1 to 8), 009 to 016 (keyboard
1, turnouts 9 to 16), 017 to 024 (keyboard 2, turnouts 1 to 8), 025 to 032 (keyboard 2,
turnouts 9 to 16) etc. The last group of eight programmings is from 249 to 256 (keyboard
16, turnouts 9 to 16). This division corresponds always exactly with the key line on the
keyboard.
Programming with the keyboard is as follows:
ACTION
press programming button on module
press a key on the keyboard of the line
for which the eightfold module is to be the
recipient
release setting order "straight" or "diverge"
The programming process is now concluded. The programmed address will be perma-
nently stored by the module, but it may be changed at any time.

yellow LED
– flashes: module currently in programming mode
– burns for 2 seconds: module is being addressed with a correct address
red LED
burns up to 3 seconds: on the last terminal addressed, there is
a) a short circuit in the switching device;
b) a stiff switching device stiff which consumes too much power;
c) a switching device with increased power consumption has recently been ad
dressed several times before.
In such cases, the short circuit control of the module will react. The cause of the fault will
have to be eliminated.
