6.7 To adjust the gears

● First adjust the outer position of the chain.
6.7.1 To adjust the outer position of the chain
● Turn the upper adjusting screw for the gear mechanism
until the roller is below the outer edge of the smallest
sprocket on the cassette.
6.7.2 To adjust the inner position of the chain
● Turn the lower adjusting screw for the inner position of
the chain on the rear derailleur until the roller is directly
below the largest sprocket on the cassette.
6.7.3 To adjust the wire
1
Change gear with the right-hand gear shift to move
the chain from the smallest sprocket on the cassette,
gear 7 (B), to the next smallest sprocket on the
cassette, gear 6 (A). (Figure 13)
A.
If the chain does not move onto the next smallest
sprocket, turn the wire adjusting device (C)
counter-clockwise to increase the tension in the
wire.
B.
If the chain moves past the next smallest sprocket
on the cassette, turn the wire adjusting device
clockwise to reduce the tension in the wire.
2
When the chain is on the next smallest sprocket on
the cassette, turn the wire adjusting device (C)
counter-clockwise to increase the tension in the wire
and crank the pedals.
The adjustment is complete when the chain is close to

6.8 To do a check of the tyre and rims

● Regularly examine that the spokes are correctly
tensioned and that the wheels are not buckled or out of
round.
● Do a check of the wear line on the side of the rim. The
wear line indicates the wear from the brakes. Replace the
rim if the wear line no longer is visible.
● Do a check of the air pressure in the tyres at regular
intervals. Refer to the side of the tyre for the correct air
pressure.
● Regularly do a check that the tyres are not damaged.
● Do not let the tyre touch oil, petrol, paraffin or agents that
can cause damage to rubber.
6.9 Handlebars, stem and head
bearing
6.9.1 To adjust the handlebars and steam

Release the stem screws (A) on the stem with a 5
mm hex key.
3
Turn the compression screw clockwise until there is
no space. Do not tighten more, that can cause
damage to the bearing.
