Safety Instructions

When using this Multi-Function Welding Unit ensure to follow all local
regulations and industry standards and practices in regards to safety.

Power Connections

Connection to the power supply
The on-site power supply to which the Multi-Function Welding Unit is
connected must be of the asynchronous type and comply with local safety
standards and regulations. It is a requirement that a connection to a power
outlet which is protected by an earth leakage device and fitted with a proper
earth connection is provided. The power supply socket must have a minimum
protection rating of IP44.
Power supply connections to the Multi-Function Welding Units
Connect the on-site power supply panel to the Multi-Function Welding Unit
with abrasion and chemical-resistant leads only; any extension leads must be
in accordance with the specifications included in this manual and have a
cross-section suitable for the Multi-Function Welding Unit power requirements.

Correct Use and Storage

In order to reduce the risk of electric shock all equipment must be correctly
used, handled and stored in full accordance with the following:
Do not use any makeshift connections that fail to comply with local standards
and regulations.
Avoid all physical contact with live parts.
Never remove a plug from a power socket by tugging or pulling on the lead.
Do not drag, carry or lift any equipment by its power lead.
Do not tread on the lead or place any hot (70 °C, 160 °F), heavy or sharp
objects on the lead as the insulation may be damaged.
Do not under any circumstances use the Multi-Function Welding Unit in wet
areas: always ensure that gloves, shoes and other personal safety equipment
are dry.
Never spray water or any other liquids on the Multi-Function Welding Unit.
The insulation on the electrical lead and all Multi-Function Welding Unit
insulation parts must be checked periodically, or immediately following any
accident. Severe dust and humidity can affect the safe operation of the Multi-
Function Welding Unit.
Do not use the Multi-Function Welding Unit in adverse operating conditions
such as severe electrical storms or heavy rain.
Regularly clean the Multi-Function Welding Unit thoroughly; ensure that
cleaning materials are suitable and will not damage insulation. Do not use
solvents, petroleum products or abrasive cleaners.
Store the Multi-Function Welding Unit in a dry safe area.
Ensure the Multi-Function Welding Unit is disconnected from the power supply
at the completion of any work session or during breaks.
Before using the Multi-Function Welding Unit again check that it has not been
damaged or tampered with.
Always wear protective eye goggles when welding.
