Operating Mode Selection

After the general data input, the screen shown on the right will appear. The
menu allows the choice between two possible operating modes:

Welding Mode

The electro-welding capabilities are enabled and the unit can be used to
install the SMARTFLEX eletrofusion fittings.
Pressure Test Mode
The built-in recorder is enabled and the unit can be used to carry out pressure
tests or retrieve pressure test data stored into the Multi-Function Welding Unit
memory.
To select the desired operating mode, use the keys
ENTER key for confirmation. Press the ESCAPE
previous screen.
Welding Mode
After having powered the Multi-Function Welding Unit up, completed the
GENERAL DATA INPUT process and selected the welding operating mode,
the screen at right will be displayed. Use the
Function desired and then press the ENTER
the ESCAPE key to return to the previous screen.

Welding

Starts an electrofusion cycle
Print Memory
Prints a hardcopy of the welding report. This option is available only if a
Hewlett-Packard compatible printer is connected to the Multi-Function
Welding Unit.
Delete Memory
Deletes welding data from the Multi-Function Welding Unit's memory.
Welding
Connect the fitting to be welded to the Multi-Function Welding Unit via the
welding leads. The display then reads as follows:
Now scan with the optical pen tip run the barcode of the fitting to be welded.
After scanning, the display shows the following screen:
Note: The screen shown hereafter is just an example; parameters
displayed may vary according to the type and size of the fitting to be
welded.
