1 Advantages

If your application supports the direct transfer of the
PIN to the chip card, the CHERRY SmartBoard
G83-6744 provides you with particular security when
you enter your PIN by means of the Secure PIN Entry
mode:
The PIN input is not transferred to the system, but
rather transferred directly from the number block of
the keyboard directly to the chip card.
2 Connection to the PC and
installation of the software
The software is subject to constant development. The
latest version is available on the Internet under:
www.cherry-world.com.

2.1 Microsoft Windows
1 Place the CHERRY CD in your CD-ROM drive.
The CD-ROM starts automatically.
2 If the CD-ROM does not start automatically, double-
click the CD-ROM drive in Windows Explorer and
then the start.exe file.
3 Follow the installation instructions on the screen.
4 Restart the PC.
5 Connect the USB plug of the SmartBoard with the
USB port of your PC.
2.2 Linux/Mac
• Install the PC/SC driver from the CHERRY CD
selecting the folder "drivers".
For a CT-API, special synchronous APIs or OCF
drivers, click the folder "software".
3 Secure PIN Entry function
The PIN LED indicates whether the keyboard
is in this protected mode:
• LED lights green: Card is activated
• LED flashes red: Keyboard is in the Secure
PIN Entry mode
Confirm the PIN by using one of the two "Enter" keys.
Abort the process by using the "Esc" key or the "+" key
on the number block.
Correct your entry with the "Backspace" key or the "–"
key on the number block.
4 Disposal
Dispose of the used device at an official
collection point for electronic waste or at your
local dealer.
