6 - PROPER OPERATION TEST

THIS TEST MUST BE PERFORMED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE REGULATIONS IN FORCE IN
IF NECESSARY, AFTER THE NEAREST CONTROL TOWER HAS
Operational checks should be realized after the re-installation of an ELT in an aircraft, whatever the
reason.
In some countries, operational checks should be realized during the first 5 minutes of an hour (UTC),
and their duration not exceed 5 seconds.
A. ELT96 / 97 test (from its front face)
1) Check fixed antenna connection on the
ELT "ANT" plug.
2) Set the ELT "MAN/RESET- OFF-AUTO"
switch to "AUTO"
NOTE :
If there is an inadvertent activation, please refer to the corresponding paragraph.
If a problem is detected during "AUTO TEST" sequence, the red warning light flashes. For
confirmation repeat operation 4).
If the problem persists, set "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" ELT switch to "OFF" and contact AIR
PRECISION.
B. ELT96/97 test (from the remote control panel)
1) On the ELT, check :
- the fixed antenna coaxial plug is locked on the
"ANT" plug,
- the switch is set to "AUTO".
2) Press on push button "AUTO TEST/RESET" a) The "XMIT ALERT" red warning light
NOTE :
If there is an inadvertent activation, please refer to the corresponding paragraph.
If a problem is detected during "AUTO TEST" sequence, "XMIT ALERT" red warning light
flashes. For confirmation repeat operation 2).
If the problem persists, set "MAN/RESET-OFF-AUTO" ELT switch to "OFF" and contact AIR
PRECISION.
