D. Preflight test
THE ELT96 EQUIPED WITH THE OPTION « EXTERNAL LOOP »,
EMITS IF THE 26-PIN CONNECTOR IS NOT CONNECTED AND WHEN THE SWITCH IS SET TO
1) Inspect external fixed antenna and make sure there are no signs of corrosion.
2) Check that the ELT is properly fixed in its compartment.
3) Inspect the ELT and make sure the antenna coaxial plug and the 26-pin connector are
properly attached.
4) Perform a proper operation test. Refer to Paragraph 6 and to instructions and regulations
in force in the relevant country.
5) Check that the ELT and the remote control switches are set to "AUTO".
E. Postflight test
1) Check that the ELT and the remote control switches are set to "AUTO".
2) Set on-board VHF station to 121.5 MHz and make sure the ELT does not transmit any
signal. In case of inadvertent activation, refer to Paragraph 7.
