WARNING: When mounting, ensure that the cutting direction of the teeth (direction of arrow
on saw blade) is the same as the direction-of-rotation arrow above the upper blade guard
match.
WARNING: Use a saw blade suited to the material and cut quality desired.
4. SAWDUST REMOVAL(SEE FIG. C1)
Your saw includes a vacuum adapter(15) that attaches to the dust extraction outlet(14) on the saw.
This adapter port can be attached to a vacuum cleaner (sold separately). The use of the vacuum
is strongly recommended as it keeps the work area clean, dramatically increases cut visibility and
reduces airborne dust. It also keeps dust out of the working elements of the guard.
WORKING HINTS FOR YOUR CORDLESS CIRCULAR
SAW
WARNING:Always use a blade suited to the material and material thickness to be cut. The
quality of cut will improve as the number of blade teeth increase. Always ensure the work-
piece is firmly held or clamped to prevent movement. Support large panels close to the cut line. Any
movement of the material may affect the quality of the cut. The blade cuts on the upward stroke and
may chip the uppermost surface or edges of your work piece when cutting, ensure your uppermost
surface is a non visible surface when your work is finished.
1. INSTALLING AND USING THE PARALLEL GUIDE (SEE FIG. D1, D2)
Your saw comes with a parallel guide(11). It allows you to make accurate parallel cuts along a
workpiece edge and cutting strips of the same dimension. It attaches to the saw's base.
a) Position the parallel guide so the arm can slide into the mounting slots at the front of the saw's
base plate, and loosen the parallel guide clamping fixture(12).
b) Adjust the parallel guide to the desired length. And tighten the parallel guide clamping fixture(12).
c) Clamp and support the work piece securely before making your cut. And then place the parallel
guide firmly against the edge of the work piece.
d) Be sure that the guiding edge of the work piece, or the wall, is straight so you can produce a
straight cut.
e) Always let the blade reach full speed, then carefully guide the saw into the work piece. Do not
bind the blade in the cut.
f) Push the saw forward at a speed where the blade is not laboring.
2. CUTTING WITH YOUR CIRCULAR SAW (SEE FIG. E1-E5)
a) Set-up and clamp your workpiece and mark your cut line.
b) Set the depth-of-cut.
c) Make sure the blade is not making contact with the workpiece.
d) Let the blade reach full speed before you enter the workpiece, starting your cut.
e) Press down on the saw, keeping the front of the base flat against the workpiece as you slowly
push the saw's blade into the workpiece.
f) Carefully guide the saw through the line of cut. Do not bind the blade in the cut; push the saw
blade forward at a rate where the blade is not laboring. When the cut is complete, release the On/
Off Switch (5) and let the blade come to a complete stop.
WARNING: Do not remove the saw and blade from the workpiece while the blade is
moving. This could damage your cut, cause kickback, loss of control, and result in
serious injury.
g) When the blade and saw are clear of and removed from the work piece, the lower blade guard
and base will be able to automatically drop down and the blade guard release lever will engage the
upper blade guard, locking the blade above the base.
