ty instructions carefully before using the product

Intended Use
• This product is intended to be used to sharpen knives with con-
ventional steel blades. It is not suitable for sharpening ceram-
ic-coated blades or very delicate steel blades (e.g. Damascus
steel blades).
• The product is designed for personal domestic use only and is
not intended for commercial applications. The product should
only be used as described in these instructions. Any other use
is deemed to be improper.

■ Keep children and animals away from plastic bags and fi lms.

■ The product is not intended to be used by children or people
with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities.

■ Ensure that the product is positioned in a stable way when you
use it.
■ Always make sure that your fi ngers or other body parts are out-
side of the cutting line.
■ Always sharpen knives out of the reach of children and animals.
■ Only ever use testing material and never your own fi ngers or
other body parts to check the blade sharpness.
■ Be careful when handling knives so that you do not injure your-
self or others!
NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property
■ Sharpen high-quality knife blades according to the manufac-
turer's specifi cations so that the quality is not compromised.
■ Keep the product away from hot surfaces and protect it from im-
pacts to prevent material damage.

Use
Only sharpen blades which are clean and dry.
Cleaning and Storage
• Wipe down the knife sharpener after use with a damp, soft
cloth to remove any slivers of metal. Do not clean it in a dish-
washer or use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents for
cleaning.
• Store in a clean and dry place.

Operating Instructions
1. Place the knife sharpener on a ta-
ble or another fl at, dry and clean
surface. The grinding arms must be
facing you.
2. Hold the knife sharpener fi rmly with
one hand.
3. Place the blade with the wide end
close to the knife handle between
the grinding surfaces of the grinding
arms.
4. If the blade has a V-shaped pro-
fi le and is to be sharpened on both
sides, hold the knife straight so that
both grinding surfaces touch the
blade.
5. Hold blades which are only to be
sharpened on one side at an angle
so that only the side of the blade
which is to be sharpened touches
the grinding surface.
6. Pull the knife through the knife
sharpener towards yourself. Do not
apply any great pressure and do
not perform any movement back-
wards and forwards! Always pull
only in one direction!
7. Repeat the process a few times until
you get the level of sharpness you
want.
8. Carefully rinse the knife after sharp-
ening.
