Safety Information

The guarantee/warranty will expire if damage is incurred resulting from non-compliance
with the operating instructions! We do not assume any liability for consequential damage!
We do not assume any liability for property damage and personal injury caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases the warranty/
guarantee is voided.
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is prohibited for safety and approval
reasons (CE). Never disassemble the product. There are no components inside the casing that need to be
adjusted or serviced by you. Furthermore, this will render the guarantee/warranty void!
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children!
• The product must not become damp or wet.
• Always turn on the transmitter first and put the engine control into neutral position. Then the speed controller
may be connected to a battery pack and switched on. When switching off, proceed in reverse order – first
switch off the speed controller and disconnect it from the rechargeable battery, then switch off the transmitter.
• Disconnect the battery from the speed controller if you are not using the latter. The speed controller can be
temporarily switched off using the on/off switch.
• Combined with the motor supplied, the speed controller may use NiMH/NiCd rechargeable batteries or LiPo
rechargeable batteries. For the technical data, see the table in the chapter „Technical data".
• Different current values result in operation depending on purpose (on- or off-road) and track material (tar,
sand, grass). For this, always observe the technical data in these operating instructions. If the threshold
values are not observed, the motor and/or speed controller can be destroyed. Loss of guarantee/warranty!
• The motor, the speed controller and the batteries can become very hot during operation. Danger of burns!
• Always use a battery pack to operate the speed controller. Never use a wall mains adapter.
• Only connect a single brushless motor to the speed controller.
• The brushless speed controller is not suitable for the operation of conventional electric motors with two
connections!
• Keep the biggest possible distance between receiver and speed controller/motor for the installation, to avoid
interaction.
• Do not install the aerial line of the receiver in parallel to the live cables.
• Do not coil up the aerial cable. For example, use an aerial tube which protrudes from the vehicle in a
perpendicular position.
• When operating the model, sufficient cooling has to be provided for the speed controller as well as the motor.
Never cover the cooling body and the fan or the speed controller!
• Check the ventilator function at every commissioning, do not block the fan, remove dust and contamination
from the fan that has collected there, e.g. by operation of the vehicle.
• Do not block the drive. The resulting currents may destroy the motor and/or speed controller.
• Observe a smooth drive section and perform regular maintenance.
• Check the vehicle and the sped controller/motor for damage. If you discover any damage, do not operate
the vehicle or the speed controller/motor anymore.
• Disconnect the battery from the speed controller before charging.
• Handle the product with care; impacts, shock or fall even from low heights will damage it.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become a dangerous toy for children. When operating
vehicles, make sure that no body parts or other objects come into contact with moving parts. Risk of injury!

Assembly
• If the product is to be used as a replacement for an existing drive, first remove the old speed controller/motor
from your model.
• Attach the new speed controller/motor in the chassis. Select the same assembly site depending on the space
situation. Ideally, it should be as far away from the receiver as possible. The speed controller should not be
directly next to the motor either. Observe that the LEDs in the speed controller (below the three motor
connection cables) are still visible when installed.
• Connect speed controller cables to the motor's cables, note the colour coding of the cables, this ensures
the forward/reverse operation of the motor is synchronous with that of the speed controller. If the motor is
rotating in the wrong direction anyway, simply swap two of the three motor connections. The motor then turns
in the other direction. Alternatively, you may electronically change the rotating speed with the programming
card available as an optional accessory.
• You can use hook-and-loop tape or double-sided tape to attach the speed controller.
• Check the four attachment screws of the fan for tight fit. Also check them regularly after operation of the
vehicle.
• The on/off switch with integrated programming button should be attached so that it can be operated easily.
Also use hook-and-loop tape or double-sided tape for installation.
• Install all cables so that they cannot become entangled in rotating or moving parts of the vehicle. Use cable
ties to secure them.

Programming
a) Programming of Full Throttle and Neutral Positions
For programming the full throttle positions for forward/reverse driving and the neutral position, proceed as
follows:
• Switch on the transmitter, but leave the throttle/brake in the neutral position. Put the trimming for driving into
the centre position. No path limitations must be programmed if using computer transmitters.
• If necessary, turn the speed controller off and connect the drive battery then.
• Keep the setup button pressed and turn the speed controller on. Press and hold the setup button until the
orange LED comes on (about 4 seconds). Then release the setup button.
• Move the throttle/brake lever into full throttle for forward driving (pull the throttle all the way towards the
handle) and keep it there. The red LED flashes for about 2-3 seconds and then is lit permanently. If this is
not the case and the red LED only flashes when you move to the full throttle position reverse (throttle lever
away from the handle), you need to set the reverse switch for the driving function to „Reverse".
The motor emits a sound signal. The full throttle position for forward driving is stored.
The sound signal is generated because the brushless motor is activated for a moment. Depending
on the motor, this sound signal may be very low or inaudible. In this case, observe the LED on the
speed controller.
• Move the throttle/brake lever into full throttle for reverse driving (push the throttle away from the handle all
the way) and keep it there. The orange LED flashes for 2-3 seconds and then is lit permanently. The motor
emits two sound signals. The full throttle position for reverse driving is stored.
• Release the throttle/brake so that it sits in the neutral position. The red LED and the orange LED flash at the
same time for about 2-3 seconds and go out then. The motor emits a sound signal. The neutral position is
now saved.
• Switch the speed controller off; the programming is complete and stored now. If you switch on the speed
controller now, the speed controller is ready for operation with the settings made above. In this case, the
orange LED remains lit.
b) Programming the Special Functions
The programming card from the scope of delivery enables simple programming of various speed controller
settings.
There are two plug options on the programming card front. The left socket serves external voltage supply of
5 to 6.3 V, if the speed controller to be programmed does not have any BEC system. The right socket is intended
for connection of the speed controller.
Observe correct polarity when connecting it. For this, observe the marks on the programming card casing.
Proceed as follows to programme the speed controller:
• Switch off the speed controller.
• Connect the servo plug with the programming card, observe correct polarity of the servo plug: (black =
minus/-)
The voltage supply is usually achieved by a so-called BEC system integrated in most speed
controllers and using the receiver power supply from the drive battery.
If the speed controller to be programmed does not have this BEC system, the programming card
has to be additionally supplied from an external voltage source. For this, plug a suitable receiver
battery (5 to 6.3 V) into the left connection socket in addition to the speed controller servo socket.
• If the programming card is operated with external voltage, the speed controller must be switched on before
the external supply voltage. Observe correct polarity as well as the amount of the supply voltage (max.
6.3 V).
• Connect the speed controller to the drive battery and switch on the speed controller. The indicator LED and
the left and right display indicators of the programming card light up. The left display indicates the
programming function. The right display shows the value currently stored in the speed controller.
• Use the button „Menu" to select the desired function to be changed. Use the button „Value" to change the
menu items currently selected in the left display. The value in the right display moves one step up each time
you push the button „Value".
• Save the newly selected setting in the speed controller by pushing „OK". The programming card LED and
the LED in the speed controller flash briefly.
If you want to perform any other settings to other menu items, proceed accordingly.
• Use the button „Reset" to reset the speed controller to its basic settings.
• Switch off the speed controller again and disconnect it from the drive battery after making and saving all
settings. Disconnect the speed controller servo plug from the programming card and connect the plug to the
intended receiver slot again.
Your model can now be operated with the newly programmed speed controller.
