5 Acceptance and transportation
For lashing and transporting the unit, use de­
vices that have been rated to handle its full
weight and dimensions!
Observe weight data on packaging or in the ac­
companying documentation!
Wear safety shoes!
Wear safety gloves!
Proceed with the greatest care and caution!
For longer periods in transport or in storage, the
machine needs to be covered to protect it
against soiling!
The machine can be transported fastened to pallets
to protect it against damage! Relocation over short
distances is possible on the transport wheels if the
support unit is used.

5.2.1 Removing the support unit

(! Fig. H)
1.
Swivel the gearbox support [44] up.
2.
Raise the support wheel [9] by turning the
crank [8] until the tool mounts [51, Fig. O] rest
completely on the floor.
3.
Lift the support unit [7] and pull out the
T‐bolt [43] (! Fig. H).
4.
Remove the support unit.

5.2.2 Lifting the machine

When hoisting or transporting the machine with
a vehicle or suitable transport device, always
ensure that the machine is secured or strapped
in with tension belts in accordance with the reg­
ulations!
1.
Shut down the machine
(! Chapter 4.7 ‐ page 28).
2.
Fasten all loose parts to the machine.
3.
Remove the support unit if necessary
(! Chapter 5.2.1 ‐ page 29).
4.
Sling suitable lashing gear [53, Fig. P] (belts or
ropes) to the lifting handle [5, Fig. P] in accor­
dance with the regulations.
5.
Lift the machine.

5.2.3 Driving distances manually

Mount the support unit [Fig. P]:
a.
If necessary, raise the support wheel [9] by
turning the crank [8].
b.
Mount the support unit [7] to the machine
and secure with the T‐bolt [43] (! Fig. H).
c.
Lower the support wheel [9] with the
crank [8] until the grinding unit [11] no
longer touches the floor.
d.
Swivel the gearbox support [44] down onto
the grinding unit.
The gearbox support prevents the grinding
unit from tipping.
4.
Set the guide bar [2, Fig. A] to the desired work
position if necessary (! Chapter 3.1.1 ‐ page 23).
The guide handle [1 Fig. A] should be set at
about hip height.
5.
Pull the coupling bolts [45, Fig. I] of the drive
wheels [12, Fig. I] and lock them into this posi­
tion by rotating them (90°).
The wheels are separated from the respective
wheel drive.
6.
Grip the machine by the guide handle
[1, Fig. A], move it to the intended location and
set it down.
7.
Swivel the gearbox support [44] up.
8.
Raise the support wheel [9, Fig. H] by turning the
crank [8, Fig. H] until the tool mounts [51, Fig. O]
rest completely on the surface to be ground.
