Safety instructions and preconditions
for use
This unit has been designed for punching of paper materials
and plastic foils as well as for binding of such materials using
combs. Use the unit for this purpose only and in conformity
with these operating instructions.
Place the unit on a stable, flat surface (e.g. table).
Before punching: Remove all metal parts (staples etc.)
from the document.
Empty the cuttings tray regularly.
Only use original Leitz accessories.
Keep the operating instructions with the unit at all times.

1. Getting started
• Remove the unit and the enclosed accessories from
the box.
• Push the punching lever horizontally onto the shaft
located on the right side of the machine.
• Secure the punching lever with the screw and the
screw-driver provided.
• Fold the cover and the punching lever upwards.
Your comBIND 300 is now ready to use.
2. Inserting and opening the comb
• Place the comb with the side to be opened facing
upwards into the binding mechanism.
• Pull the binding lever so far that the comb is opened
enough and the document can be inserted easily.
The marks indicate the approximate lever position for the
respective comb size.
3. Punching
To have a correct punching align the document (A5 or A4) to
the left side. There is no need to set the paper format.
• Place the document (max. 15 sheets of paper of 80 g/
m² each or 2 plastic foils of 0.2 mm) into the punching
channel.
• Press the punching lever all the way down.
• Move the punching lever upwards again and remove
the punched document.
4. Binding
• Insert the punched document into the opened comb.
It is now possible to punch all other sheets (step 3) and to insert
them into the opened comb.
• In order to close the comb push the binding lever
upwards.
• Remove the ready bound document.
5. Emptying the cuttings tray
• Pull out the cuttings tray and empty it.
• Push the cuttings tray in again.
6. Transporting or storing the unit
• The unit has a carrying handle, so it can be easily
moved with one hand or folded up and stored away.
