1. Changing the batteries

• Open the battery compartment
Remove the cover of the battery compartment on the
underside of the device.

Take the old batteries out of the device and insert the
new ones. Make sure the polarity is correct (there is
a mark inside the battery compartment).
• Close the battery compartment
Close the battery compartment by replacing the

• Please note:
Change the batteries
- if the battery symbol in the display appears after the
display segments have been tested
- if the display fails to light up despite your
having pressed the Start button.
Always change all 4 batteries.
Only use long-life alkaline batteries (LR 6). Carbon
zinc batteries (R6) have to be changed frequently.
Maintenance
Do not use rechargeable batteries. If the device is
going to be out of use for any lengthy period, please
remove the batteries. This prevents leakage. Es-
sentially, all batteries can leak.
Batteries and appliances should not be
disposed of with domestic waste but should
be handed in at appropriate collection and
disposal points.

2. Cleaning and disinfection

The device contains sensitive components and should
be protected against substantial temperature fluctu-
ations, humidity, dust and direct sunlight. The device is
not impact-resistant or shockproof.
Protect against moisture. The device is not waterproof.
Only use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Never
use petrol, thinners or any other strong solvents. Do
not scrub the cuff or wash it in the washing machine.
Use a synthetic detergent and rub the surface gently. If
the device has been opened, it must be subjected to a
F
metrological inspection by an authorised institution.
Make sure no liquid gets into the air tube.
Allow to dry thoroughly.
If you have to disinfect the device, we recommend
using Descosept AF, Dr. Schumacher GmbH, Mel-
sungen. It can be used for fast wipe-down and spray
disinfection.
The cuff must not be washed or dry-cleaned.
