Getting started

Setting Up Your Acoustic Wave
1. Plug the small end of the power cord into the power jack on the back of your Acoustic
Wave
®
music system II (Figure 2).
2. Plug the other end of the power cord into an AC power (mains) outlet.
European systems only
Acoustic Wave systems in Europe include a small AC power switch on the back of the
system, just above the power jack. When your Acoustic Wave music system is connected
to an AC power outlet, you can use that switch to turn off power to your system to conserve
electricity.
CAUTION: Do not cover the ventilation openings, which provide cooling for the built-in electronic
circuitry. Blocking the ventilation openings can cause the system to overheat, resulting in possible
damage to the system.
Note: The Acoustic Wave
®
"Operating on DC power" on page 9.
Note: Bose recommends using a safety agency-approved surge protector on all electronic
equipment. Voltage variations and spikes can damage electronic components in any system.
A quality suppressor can eliminate the vast majority of failures attributed to surges and may be
purchased at electronics stores.
We encourage you to begin by listening to the demonstration CD included with your Acoustic
®
Wave
music system II. It will demonstrate the deep, rich musical performance this system is
designed to deliver.
For instructions on playing CDs, see "Playing Compact Discs" on page 10.
Ventilation openings – DO NOT BLOCK
music system II also can be powered from a 12V DC source. See
