Calibration

Calibration should be carried out using a traceable reference thermometer with an
accuracy of at least 0.1°C.
Calibration procedure for GD120.
The calibration of the GD120 is in two parts, low temperature and high temperature.
Part one.
Liquid temperature of the bath must be below 20°C, recommended temperature of
5°C.
Place the unit on a bath, turn on and set unit to 5°C. (This is the recommended

temperature anything from 0° to 20°C can be used.)
Allow the unit to stabilise for at least 5 minutes after a stable temperature

condition has been achieved.
Measure the liquid temperature by placing a traceable reference thermometer with

an accuracy of at least 0.1°C into the bath.
Press F and S simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds or until  is

displayed.

Press S and temperature will be displayed.
Turn „Navigator‟ knob so that the average temperature (over a period of 15 seconds)

of the display equals the temperature on the external thermometer.
Press S and display shows 

Part two
Liquid temperature of the bath must be above 70°C, recommended temperature of
70°C.
Place the unit on a bath, turn on and set unit to 70°C. (This is the recommended

temperature anything from 70° to 90°C can be used.)
Allow the unit to stabilise for at least 5 minutes after a stable temperature condition
2
has been achieved.
Measure the liquid temperature by placing a traceable reference thermometer with
3
an accuracy of at least 0.1°C into the bath.

Press F and S simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds or until LCAL is
displayed.
The display should read 

Rotate „Navigator‟ knob until display shows 

Press S and temperature will be displayed.

Turn „Navigator‟ knob so that the average temperature (over a period of 15 seconds)

of the display equals the temperature on the external thermometer.
Press S and display shows temperature

That completes the calibration procedure. Fig 4 shows the menu structure.
