1 Safety notes
This set of operating instructions is part of the product and must be read carefully before using the charger. All safety regulations
must be adhered to. The operating instructions must be stored during the lifetime of the product and passed on to any subsequent
user or owner.
1.1 Safety goggles and protetive gloves
When handling the battery, always wear goggles and protective gloves! (For more information, see Setting up the device). Contact
between skin, eyes or clothing and the battery acid must be avoided at all times since this is extremely corrosive. If battery acid gets
into the eyes, immediately rinse the eyes with plenty of water. In such instances, after rinsing, immediately consult a doctor. Acid
splashes on the skin should immediately be removed with soap and water. Acid splashes on clothing result in holes!
1.2 Area of use
The charger is design to charge ordinary lead/acid batteries as well as maintenance free rechargeable batteries. The batteries must be
suitable for the voltage specified on the device and the specified charging current.
The charger may not be used to charge batteries that are not rechargeable.
The charger may not be used as voltage supply for devices.
1.3 Connection
The mains connection cable and the charging cable must be in perfect condition. Do not shorten or lengthen the charging cable. In
the event of damages to the mains power cable, it must be replaced by a specialist. Repairs to the charger may only be carried out
by specialists.
2 Operation
2.1 Setting up the device
Do not set up your battery charger on flammable materials during charging! The device warms up when in operation. Set the charger
up in such a way that it is well ventilated. Never cover the ventilation slots. The charger is only approved for use indoors.
Protect the unit from wet conditions and damp. If the device becomes wet there is a risk of potentially fatal electric shock.
When charging the battery, small quantities of gas are released from the battery acid. This is normal. The gas issued by the battery can
