THE POWER CORD
Position the power base as close
to a wall socket as possible.
Locate the mains cable so that it
does not overhang the work
surface, and cannot be caught
accidentally. Shorten the mains
lead by winding it around the
cord storage area under the
powerbase, and bring it out of
the cord exit in the base.
OPENING THE LID
Remove the kettle from the
power base. If the switch has
been pushed down inadvertently,
it will spring up into the "off"
position.
Hold the kettle handle firmly in
one hand, hold the lid knob in
the other, and pull the lid straight
up. As soon as it separates from
the kettle, move it out of the
rising steam.

USING YOUR KETTLE

FILLING
Open the lid and fill the kettle via
the lid aperture. Not through the
spout.
Observe water level when filling,
you must use at least 200ml
of water, but the water level must
be below the Max mark indicated
on the viewing window.
Do not overfill the kettle. If the
kettle is overfilled, there is a risk
that boiling water may be ejected
from the spout and lid.
Replace the lid and ensure it is
firmly in place. Check that it is
fully closed, otherwise the kettle
may not switch off when boiling.
SWITCHING ON
Check that the switch is in the
"Off" position (lift the kettle from
the power base and set it down
again taking care not to spill any
water).

SWITCHING ON
The switch will only operate when
the kettle is correctly fitted onto
the base.
Plug the power base into the wall
socket. If necessary, switch on the
wall socket.
Press the switch down. The neon
light will light up and the kettle
will start to heat up.
When the water has boiled the
kettle will automatically switch off,
the switch will return to the "Off"
position and the light will go out.
