The Catheter Extension Cable is not protected against
the effects of a cardiac defibrillator.

5.2. Patient Monitor Cable

NOTE
Follow cable compatibility detailed in the Pressio
cessories table ( Section 12. References (p. 11)).
The pressure and temperature cables are fitted with guide
pins, to facilitate proper connections.

5.3. Cables connection

The three cable sockets are placed on the Monitor right pan-
el, with a specific color code for each cable.
– The Catheter Extension Cable socket (white) is used to
connect the Catheter Extension Cable plug, to allow Cath-
eter/Monitor connection.
– The ICP socket (blue) is used to connect the Monitor pres-
sure cable plug to the patient bedside monitor for the
transmission of ICP values.
– The ICT socket (red) is used to connect the Monitor tem-
perature cable plug to the patient bedside monitor for the
transmission of ICT values.
To connect the cables, align the arrows located on the plug
with the matching marker [9]. Then, push the cable plug in. It
should enter easily without forcing.
To disconnect the cables, pull the cable plug away from the
Monitor socket.

6. Maintenance of the cables

Sophysa recommends continuous vigilance to ensure that
the Monitor, its cables and accessories are in good operating
condition for every new patient.
Check the visual aspect of the cables before use. Make sure
that:
– there is no foreign body in the cable plug,
– electrical connections of the plug are not twisted,
– there are no visible cracks on the cable,
– cable markings are still visible.

7. Environmental conditions, storage and

shipping

Do not place the Monitor cables in an MRI magnetic field.
WARNING
Portable RF communications equipment (including pe-
ripherals such as antenna cables and external anten-
nas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches)
to the Monitor cables. Otherwise, degradation of the
performance of this equipment could result.

7.1. Environmental conditions

The Monitor and its accessories are designed to withstand
the following environmental conditions:
– Temperature: between +10 °C (50 °F) and +40 °C (104 °F).
– Relative humidity without condensation: between 15% and
95%.
– Altitude: between -500 m and +3,000 m (corresponding to
a flight altitude up to 12,000 m in a pressurized cabin).

7.2. Storage

The Monitor, its accessories and cables are designed to
withstand the following storage conditions:
– Temperature: between -20 °C (-4 °F) and +60 °C (140 °F).
– Relative humidity: between 15% and 95%.
– Altitude: between -500 m and +4,600 m (corresponding to
a flight altitude up to 12,000 m in a pressurized cabin).
7.3. Shipping
Protect the Monitor, its accessories and cables from shocks
and vibrations during shipping.
The Monitor, its accessories and cables are designed to
withstand the following shipping conditions:
– Temperature: between -20 °C (-4 °F) and +60 °C (140 °F).
– Relative humidity: between 15% and 95%.
– Altitude: between -500 m and +4,600 m (corresponding to
a flight altitude up to 12,000 m in a pressurized cabin).

8. Processing the product after use

8.1. Product return

Do not use a cable that is damaged.
As part of its continual improvement program, Sophysa asks
its customers to inform it and the legal authority of the coun-
try of any unexpected and serious problems that occur with
the product.
Return the faulty cable to Sophysa for proper investigation.
In order to properly assess the returned cable, it must be ac-
companied by an explanatory Return to Manufacturer Au-
thorization form.

8.2. Product elimination

In order to eliminate a cable, clean it as instructed in Sec-
tion 4. Cleaning and disinfection procedure (p. 7) and then
send the cable back to Sophysa for proper elimination. Con-
tact Sophysa customer service at contact@sophysa.com or
your local distributor to organize the shipment of your equip-
ment.

9. Warranty

The performances and safety of the cables are ensured only
with the Monitor and the compatible components (such as
