3. FUNCTION
Breathable, filtered, air passes through the inhalation valves to the inside of the visor.
The filtered air flows over the visor minimising visor misting then passes through check valves
to the inner mask.
Excess and exhaled air is expelled through the exhalation valve.
(See also full face mask use instructions enclosed herewith.)

5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 LI-300 battery recharge
The lithium battery must be recharged with Kasco LI-02 charger.( see battery charger use
instructions).
RECHARGE THE BATTERY AFTER EACH USE.
5.2 Battery and blower unit set-up
Slip belt through battery hook.
Connect battery to blower by means of cord and tighten nut to ensure contact.
Slip belt through T5 or T8 blower hook.
For T8 and M3 blowers:- make sure that the blower is functioning, that the fan
rotates in a CLOCKWISE direction and that the filter seal gasket is properly
housed.
For T5 blower:- make sure that the blower is functioning, that the fan rotates in
an ANTI-CLOCKWISE direction, and that
housed.
Before using the filter for the first time check that seals are unaltered and within
the expiry date and that they fit the respirator. Do not misinterpret the filter
labeling according to other standards with the classification of this PPE
according to EN12942:2009.
Remove covers from the filter, screw it though the EN148-1 thread onto the
chosen respirator and read the filter use instructions.
Connect breathing tube to the face mask and to the T5 or T8 blower unit.

6.5 The respirator is to be serviced once a year by KASCO or Kasco authorized service
centre.
6.6 After asbestos removal work, decontaminate as follows:
2 years or
take a shower while wearing all PPEs including the respirator switched ON.
300 cycles
remove the filter/filters and dispose of them in the appropriate containers. N.B. The filter
is not to be reused for asbestos removal activities.
2 years or
allow the respirator to dry
300 cycles
fit plugs on the blower unit and store the respirator.
7. WARNING
7.1 - Do not use the respirator under the conditions listed at point 4.2
- Do not use the respirator unless the airflow check indicated at point 5.5 has been
carried out.
7.2
- Do not use the blower if the fan does not rotates as described at point 5.2.
- Do not immerse unit in water for cleaning without appropriate caps
- Do not use if the air flow indicator shows a low flow.(See 5.5)
7.3
- DO NOT KEEP DISCHARGED, RECHARGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER EACH USE
- Do not place battery near any heat source.
- Do not short the terminals.
- Do not place battery on or near equipment which vibrates excessively.
- In case of battery breakage wash immediately the parts which have in
contact
- Do not expose battery to infrared or ultraviolet rays excessively.
- Do not perforate, crush, disassemble or open the battery as leakage could catch fire,
explode or release dangerous substance.
- Do not discharge under 6 Volts under load
7.4 To recharge the battery only use the LI-02 battery charger
Keep the battery charger connected to the battery only if the charger is powered and
switched ON.
The battery charges correctly if carried out at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C. For
charging at any other temperature, please contact Kasco.
7.5
- Do not use expired filters even if their seals are still intact.
- Do not use a filter for more than three months.
7.6
Return to fresh, clean air immediately and take OFF helmet if:
7.7 THE RESPIRATOR WILL NOT FURNISH BREATHING PROTECTION UNLESS UNITS
WHICH DRAW IN AIR THROUGH THE FILTER ARE FUNCTIONING.
7.8 Never alter or modify this respirator in any way.
7.9
Do not use the respirator if the mask has not been cleaned and accurately
decontaminated.
7.10 Do not use the respirator with mask if the inward leakage test, indicated hereunder,
carried out on the mask is negative:
Leakage test:
Close the female thread with the palm of a hand and inhale slightly to generate a
negative pressure (vacuum inside the mask). Hold your breath for a moment. If the
negative pressure is not maintained, tighten the straps further and repeat the test.
(See also face mask instructions).
7.11 This equipment is to be used only by qualified personnel with knowledge of its technical
and legal limits .
Do not use the respirator if your sense of smell is in any way impaired.
7.12
Do not use the respirator if it has not been serviced annually by a Kasco authorized
7.13
service centre.
8. REPAIRS
8.1-Use only genuine KASCO spares.
8.2-For setting and adjustment of electric parts contact KASCO exclusively.
8.3-Should you require technical assistance for problems that could arise while using KASCO
equipment ,the following information is necessary: type of respirator ,serial number, name of
Rev. No. 04 dtd 10/07/2018
a) If the indicator ball rises above the indicator line, the equipment is ready for
use. (See 2.2 above)
b) If the ball remains below the indicator line, replace the filters and repeat the
test. Should the ball still remain below the indicator line, replace the battery and
the filter and repeat complete test.
c)Do not use the PPE if the ball does not move at all.
If sealed, the filters remain unaltered until the expiry date shown on them.
Unsealed filters have to be replaced every three months, regardless of the
amount of hours worked. It is thus advisable to write the date on which the filter
was opened on the filter itself.
Filters cannot be washed, blown out or restored. When exhausted they must be
disposed of.
Replace both filters simultaneously.
a) Leakage is detected by smell, taste or eye, nose or throat irritation.
b) Inhaled air becomes extremely hot.
c) Any feeling of nausea, dizziness or ill being develops.
