Description
The weigher is designed to provide
continuous weighing of grain and
other granulated materials.
On correct use and installation the
weigher is capable of an accuracy
in excess of +/- 1%. It may not,
however, be used as scales for the
purpose of selling by weight.
The weighing hopper is divided into
two compartments. One compart-
ment is being filled, while the other
is being emptied.
The weigher, type KA 25, has a
capacity of up to appr. 15 tons of
barley per hour. The capacity de-
pends on the material to be
weighed.
Each compartment of the weighing
hopper has a capacity of appr. 55
litres. From factory the weigher has
been adjusted to weigh in batches
of 25 kg. The batches can be
changed to 20 and 30 kg.
Net weight without accessories:
52 kg.
The weigher, type KA 50, has a
capacity of up to appr. 25 tons of
barley per hour. The capacity de-
pends on the material to be
weighed.
Each compartment of the weighing
hopper has a capacity of appr. 110
litres. From factory the weigher has
been adjusted to weigh in batches
of 50 kg. The batches can be
changed to 40 and 60 kg.
Net weight without accessories:
75 kg.

Installation
The weigher must be placed in a
level position and on a firm founda-
tion. The weigher must be accessi-
ble from all sides for inspection and
cleaning. Any possible protection
against dust must be detachable
and in no way impede the accurate
performance of the weigher.
The weigher can weigh directly
from a silo. The flow to the weigher
must, however, be restricted, e. g.
by means of a shutter so as to
correspond with the capacity of the
weigher. The shutter is also used to
cut off the flow from the silo when
the weigher is not being used.
The weighed out material can fall
from the weigher directly into a silo
or via an outlet hopper (extra equip-
ment) into an auger or similar con-
veyor. The outlet should be dimen-
sioned so that the grain leaves the
weigher without loss of speed,
otherwise it will impede accurate
operation of the weigher.
Where material is gravity fed to the
weigher via a long down-pipe, ex-
cessive material speed results. This
leads to bad distribution of the
material in the weigher and results
in inaccurate weighing due to the
velocity . In such installations, an
intermediate piece with baffles
(extra equipment) should be used.
In this way the speed of the flow is
retarded and an even distribution
of the grain in the weigher inlet is
achieved.
It is recommended to place a two-
way switch below the outlet hopper
of the weigher, if the outlet is con-
nected to a closed pipe system.
The two-way switch makes the
„storing up" of the weighed material
more practical when test weighing.
Setting up of requi-
red batch weight
From factory the weigher type
KA 25 has been adjusted to 25 kg.
If the material is so light that the
weighing hopper cannot contain 25
kg, the batches can be reduced to
20 kg by removing the counter
weight held by two screws on the
weigher arm (A).
When weighing heavy materials the
batches can be increased to 30 kg
by adding more counter weights
(extra equipment).
From factory the weigher type
KA 50 has been adjusted to 50 kg.
If the material is so light that the
weighing hopper cannot contain 50
kg, the batches can be reduced to
40 kg by removing the counter
weight held by two screws on the
weigher arm (A).
When weighing heavy materials the
batches can be increased to 60 kg
by adding more counter weights
(extra equipment).
After having altered the batch
weight, a test weighing should be
made.
