INSTALLING THE MOUNTING PLATE
IN THE ROUTER TABLE
Follow the instructions in the router table's
owner's manual.
INSTALLING MOTOR
The motor can be installed with the switch
facing left or right. It is best to orient the
motor's on/off switch (and speed control on
the 1617EVS or 1618EVS motors) on the
RA1165 so that they are in the location you
find most convenient. For most people this
will be to the right of the depth adjustment
control when viewed from under the table.
To position the switch and speed control in
this way, align the arrow on the base with the
arrow on the motor that is below the cord.
1. Release the base's quick-release clamp
lever. (Fig. 3)
2. Line up the arrow on the base with the
desired arrow on the motor. (Fig. 2)
3. While pressing the coarse adjustment
lever, slide the motor into the base until
resistance is felt (Fig. 3). The base guide
pin is now engaged into the slot on the
motor.

4. Continue to press coarse adjustment
lever, and turn the motor clockwise until it
stops.
5. Push the motor into the base until it
reaches the approximate desired depth.
6. Release the coarse adjustment lever and
slide the motor forward or back as need-
ed until the coarse adjustment system's
"catch" springs into the coarse adjustment
detent notch.
7. Set final height position as described in
"Operating Instructions".
REMOVING THE MOTOR
Open the quick-release base clamp lever,
depress and hold the coarse adjustment
lever, and slide motor outward until it stops.
(A taper in the slot on motor helps prevent
the motor from falling out of the base when
the coarse adjustment lever is pressed.)
Turn motor counter-clockwise, and gently
pull it free of base. (Fig. 2)
