5.2 Troubleshooting list

MALFUNCTION
Motor does not run.
Motor always switching off.
Motor system does not switch
off by lock up.
Shearing plant is noisy or
vibrates.
Motor gets hot.
Shearing plant cannot be
switched off.

CAUSE
No power.
Cable faulty.
Micro-fuse faulty.
Switch faulty.
Motor faulty.
Control unit faulty
Condensers faulty.
Cutter lock-up.
Mechanical damage in the shea-
ring handpiece or flexi-shaft.
Faulty bearing in the shearing
handpiece.
Reverberation sensor's magnet
faulty.
Faulty reverberation sensor.
Power supply too weak.
Control unit faulty.
Faulty motor bearing.
Faulty motor bearing.
Ventilation screen dirty.
Malfunction at the flexi-shaft
and/or shearing handpiece.
Faulty switch.

SOLUTION
Power supply and/or fuse faulty.
Have the cable replaced.
Have the micro-fuse replaced.
Have the switch replaced.
Have the motor replaced.
Have the Control unit replaced.
Have the condensers replaced.
Remove blockage.
For the purposes of fault finding
first of all uncouple the shearing
handpiece and restart the plant.
Uncouple the flexi-drive from the
shearing plant if the fault persists.
Rectify any damage.
Have the shearing plant repaired
should the fault still be present.
Have the bearing replaced.
Have the insulation flange, inc.
magnet, replaced.
Have the reverberation sensor
replaced.
Check the power supply.
Have the Control unit replaced.
Have the motor replaced.
Have the motor replaced.
Clean ventilation screen.
Have fault rectified.
Have the switch replaced.
