IMPORTANT NOTES
• Read through the instructions carefully before
using the appliance for the first time. Safeguard
them for future reference.
• Before plugging the appliance into the mains,
check that the voltage corresponds to that sta-
ted on the characteristics plate. Use an electrical
socket with an earth connection
• Never immerse the electrical parts in water or
any other liquid.
• Before filling the fryer with oil or fat make sure
that all of the pieces are completely dry and that
there is no water in the pan or on the heating
element.
• Never switch the fryer on before it has been
filled with oil or fat. The amount of fat or oil used
should always be between the minimum and
maximum marks. Check that there is still enough
oil or fat in the pan before any further frying.
• Only use oils and fats recommended for fryers.
When fresh fat/lard in blocks or pieces is being
used, melt it down in a saucepan beforehand
and then pour it into the fryer before switching it
on.
• Do not overfill the basket as this may cause the
hot oil or fat to spill over the top of the fryer.
• Keep the fryer out of children's reach. Never
leave it unattended.
• The steam given off during frying is very hot.
Keep a safe distance away from this steam.
• Avoid moving the fryer while it is operating.
• Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handles
or controls.
• After use, turn the control knob to the "0" po-
sition, unplug the fryer from the wall socket and
leave it until it is cool enough to be moved.
• Always unplug it from the mains supply when
it is not in use and before cleaning it.
• If the oil has to be emptied out then leave it
until it is completely cold
• Do not unplug it by tugging on the mains ca-
ble. Never leave the mains cable hanging freely.
• Keep the appliance and the cable away from
hot surfaces.
• Do not use the appliance for uses other than
those stated in this manual.
• Do not use the appliance if either the cable or
plug are damaged. In the interest of safety cable
repairs and replacements must be carried out

SAFETY
The fryer is equipped with a safety trip that stops
the heating element from working if the control
module is not fitted into its housing correctly.
Always keep children away from a fryer when it
is switched on.

wash the basket, pan and lid in hot soapy water
and then rinse and dry them.
Make sure that all of the pieces for the fryer ass-
embled correctly
1. Slot the detachable control module (10) into
the fryer body, figure 1
2. Place the pan (7) in the fryer body, figure 2
3. Fit the lid (1) and the basket (4) on the fryer,
figure 3

figure 4
Take the basket out by pressing the basket relea-

Fill the pan with oil. The oil or fat level should
always be kept somewhere between the mini-

MIN. (2 litres).
MAX. (2.5 litres).
Turn the temperature control to the OFF position
and plug the appliance into the mains supply.
The ON/OFF control light (12) will come on
Select the correct temperature for the food to
be fried, figure 6. The thermostat lamp (13) will
go out as soon as the appliance has reached the
selected temperature
Note: The oil will heat up faster if the fryer lid
is left closed.
Place the basket into the drain-off position, figu-
re 7. Place the food to be fried inside the basket.
Do not overfill the basket.
Slowly lower the basket of food into the oil, figu-
re 8. Place the lid on when frying
After frying, turn the thermostat control to the
"0" position and unplug the fryer from the wall
socket.
Place the basket into the drain-off position.
Note: If various foodstuffs are to be fried, wait
for the oil to reach the set temperature between
fries. Always check the immersion level before
each use. The ideal oil level is somewhere bet-
ween the MIN and MAX limits marked on the
side of the frying pan.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Ufesa recommends the use of oil instead of fat
when using this appliance. Solid fat can also be
used but special precautions should be taken to
