- Press the SETUP/parameter push button (6); every time the
push button is pressed, one of the leds in the diagram (7)
comes on (in clockwise sequence) and the value of the rele-
vant parameter appears on the display (D1) stop at the desi-
red parameter.
* E1 : Encoder for entering the welding current, welding
parameters and set-up values.
Allows you to change the value shown in "D1" of the para-
meter selected via "6" in graph "7" (also during welding).
Allows you to enter the required set-up line and vary the
value.
Allows you to continuously adjust the welding current both in
TIG and MMA. (This current remains unchanged during wel-
ding when the power supply and welding conditions vary
within the ranges declared in the technical specifications).
In MMA the presence of HOT-START and ARC-FORCE means
that the mean output current can be higher than the one set.
2.1.3 Front control panel FP143 (Fig. 3)
The GENESIS GSM generators can be provided with a "robot
interface" that makes it possible to connect them to welding
robots.
The "robot interface" is provided with a 19-pin special connec-
tor (J4) that presents the interfacing signals, keeping the functio-
nality unchanged.
It is not possible, instead, to use the common MMA and TIG
remote controls.
The control RC08 or RC10/14 is necessary to guarantee the
operation of the generator.
For the description of the particulars L1, L2, L3, J1, J2, see
2.1.1 (Front control panel FP142).
J4 : 19-pin special connector for "robot interface".
For the connection to welding robots.

* I1: Start switch
It is provided with two positions: "O" off; "I" on.
* J6 : Wire feeder WF104 connector.
Provided with contacts for fibre optics, for the connection of
the control cable bundle for the wire feeder WF104.
* 1: Gas coupling, see 4.2 CONNECTING THE EQUIPMENT
COMPONENTS .
2.2.1 Wire feeder WF104 (Fig. 5)
The wire feeder WF104 is the
movable part of a complete
MIG/MAG welding plant for the
Genesis GSM. The WF104 must
be connected to the generator
by means of a cable bundle
available in different lengths.
The unit is extremely compact,
with the wire spoof compart-
ment completely protected.
The unit is provided with a
120W gearmotor and the wire
is fed by 4 rollers.
The microprocessor controls
the wire speed through the
signal of an encoder positioned on the motor; it also controls all
the information coming from the generator through the cable
bundle. Upon request the WF104 can be equipped with the
connector and electric p.c. board for the use of PUSH-PULL
torches.
Upon request it can also be provided with a kit of accessories
(rollers and wire-guide bushing in teflon) for welding with alu-
minium wires and wires with core.
Positioning on the generator is ensured by the apposite support
that guarantees 360° rotation.
2.2.2 Potentiometer remote control RC16 for MMA
and TIG welding (Fig. 6)
It can be installed on generators
provided with front panel FP142
or FP140.
This device makes it possible to
remotely vary the necessary quan-
tity of current, with no need to
interrupt the welding process or to
leave the work position.
5, 10 and 20 m connection cables
are available.
