Receiving a Call

The radio is fitted with a preprogrammed timer to limit
the maximum length of transmissions. When this time
limit is reached, a three tone warning is sounded and
transmission stops. You must release the PTT key
before proceeding.
To be able to receive calls on a single channel, simply
check that the radio has the appropriate channel
selected (see "Selecting a Channel").
To be able to receive calls on several channels, see
"Scanning".
When you receive a call, the radio will unmute and you
will hear the incoming transmission. Listen for your own
call sign and respond promptly. To respond, simply lift
the microphone off-hook, press the PTT key and identify
yourself.
