OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BL-20 TRH THERMO-/HYGROMETER

1.
INTENDED USE
The product is designed for measuring ambient air temperature (in ºC or ºF) and ambient air humidity. The
minimum and maximum readings taken during the measurement process can also be displayed. Power is
supplied by a 9V battery.
This product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. All company names and
product names are trademarks of their respective owners. All rights reserved.
Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the device are inadmissible because of safety and approval
reasons (CE). Any usage other than described above is not permitted and can damage the product and lead to
associated risks such as short-circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. Please read the operating instructions thoroughly
and keep them for further reference.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
We do not assume liability for resulting damages to property or personal injury if the
product has been abused in any way or damaged by improper use or failure to observe
these operating instructions. The warranty/ guarantee will then expire!
The icon with exclamation mark indicates important information in the operating
instructions. Carefully read the whole operating instructions before operating the device,
otherwise there is risk of danger.
Persons / Product
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children!
The product must not be subjected to heavy mechanical stress.
The product must not be exposed it to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, intense vibration, or
dampness.
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the
product.
Batteries
Batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time to avoid damage
through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore
use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted batteries.
Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying around, as there is risk, that
children or pets swallow it.
Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never recharge non-rechargeable
batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Miscellaneous
Repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist workshop.

INSERTING / REPLACING BATTERIES
1.
Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
2.
Insert a suitable 9V battery.
3.
Close the battery compartment.
Replace the battery when the battery icon appears on the display.

OPERATION
Do not insert any objects into the openings on the sensor head, as doing so may damage
the sensor.
1.
Press the on/off button to switch the device on.
2.
At the top of the display, relative humidity will be shown in % in large digits. At the bottom of the display,
temperature will be shown in ºC (Celsius) in small digits.
3.
To switch the displayed temperature unit to ºF (Fahrenheit), move the sliding switch within the battery
compartment to position F.

During the measurement process press the MAX/MIN button to only display the highest value measured
in the course of the current measurement. The maximum value indicator MAX will be displayed at the top
of the display.

Press the MAX/MIN button again to only display the lowest value of the current measurement process. The
minimal value indicator MIN will be displayed at the top of the display.
6.
Press and hold the MAX/MIN button for approx. two seconds to return to the real-time display.
The maximum and minimum value will not be stored. If you activate the MAX/MIN function again,
the MAX/MIN readings starting from the moment you call up the function again will be shown on
the display.
7.
Press the on/off button to switch the device off. Otherwise, the device will automatically turn itself off after
approx. 30 minutes.
8.
Proceed as follows to deactivate the auto-off function:

While the device is turned off, press and hold the MAX/MIN button and press the on/off button.

Release both buttons once the display is turned on.

The clock icon (indicating the auto-off function) on the display (bottom left) will go off.

Proceed in the same way to activate the auto-off function.
To mount the device on a stand (optionally available), there is a screw thread on the back, above
the battery compartment cover.
The display backlight will be automatically activated when ambient brightness becomes too low.
7.
DISPOSAL
Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statutory regulations.
Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
(Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batteries.
Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labelled with this symbol to indicate that disposal in the
domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium,
Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our stores or
wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
