11. Faults – Causes – Remedies
Fault Cause
Pump does not start - Power supply not connected
- Floating switch does not engage
Pump does not pump - Intake sieve clogged
- Pressure hose kinked
Pump does not switch off - Floating switch cannot settle
Insufficient pumping rate - Intake filter is clogged
- Pump performance reduced due to
heavily contaminated and abrasive
water impurities
Pump switches off after - Motor circuit-breaker switches the
briefly running pump off due to excessive water
contamination
- Water temperature too high; motor
circuit-breaker switches the pump
off

Remedy
- Check power supply
- Raise position of floating switch
- Clean intake sieve with water jet
- Unkink hose
- Put floating switch into appropriate
position
- Clean filter
- Clean pump and replace wear parts
- Unplug power plug and clean pump
- Ensure that maximum permissible
water temperature (35 C) is not
exceeded
