1. Kayak Presentation
You have purchased a TRIBORD kayak.
This manual will help you use it and paddle with total freedom.
For your safety, please read it carefully and follow strictly all assembly and infl ating instructions and do not exceed data given on the
capacity plate.
Not following those instructions could cause dangerous situations.
We wish you a safe and happy kayaking !
This kayak is designed for 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child, for short kayak outings (<3 hours) on the sea (fi g. 1a), lakes (fi g. 1b) or on
calm rivers (fi g. 1c).
It can also be used by one person alone (see paragraph 4.2).
Design category D, «Sheltered Waters», conforms to EC Directive 94/25/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. This
recreational craft is designed for kayaking on calm waters where wind force can be expected to reach up to 4 on the Beaufort
Scale and waves reaching up to 0.5 metres.IK100-2 is built conform to EN ISO 6185-1 Standard, category IIIB.

2. Technical Description (fi g. 2)
The TRIBORD IK100-2 kayak has several air chambers:
- 2 side chambers, equipped with 3-part valves (e),
- 1 bottom (d) equipped with a push-in valve,
- 2 seats equipped with push-in valves (c).
The kayak comes in a textile carrying bag and comes with a repair kit containing instructions on making repairs.

3. Recommendations for use

- Always wear a buoyancy vest compatible with current standards and in a good state of repair, whatever the weather (fi g. 3).
- Consult the weather conditions before taking off, as they are a determining factor for kayaking.
- Ask for information from beach lifeguard services and local tourism services regarding things to see and possible dangers at sites
(fi g. 4).
- Learn basic safety manoeuvres: How do you turn your kayak over? How do you get back into your kayak? (fi g. 5)
- Your kayak fl oats even if it turns over; never abandon your kayak. It will help keep you afl oat and be located more easily.
- Prepare your equipment carefully (fi g. 6):
- Appropriate clothing (helmet, shoes, sun/thermal protection, etc.), water and food, paddle leash, emergency paddle and tow line. If
possible, take a mobile phone in a waterproof case.
- For outings lasting several days, carry personal location devices, such as a fl ash lamp, distress fl are, and personal rescue light.
- Do not overestimate your level of expertise. Prepare a route map which corresponds to your abilities. Remember this basic principle:
«DIFFICULT START, EASY RETURN».
- Kayak in groups and tell others about your route (fi g. 7).
- Respect the environment and tranquillity of the areas (fi g. 8).
