Calibration

After the MCS, the speed sensor, and the integrator have been properly installed and
wired, calibrate the weighing system in conjunction with the integrator. Refer to the
integrator instruction manual for programming and calibration. All instruction manuals
are available for free download at www.siemens-milltronics.com.
Calibrate the scale using the supplied calibration weight. To achieve maximum scale
accuracy, perform subsequent material tests. For more information about material tests,
refer to the integrator manual.

Balancing

For applications where the conveyor loading does not repeat in locations across the
width of the belt, such as side to side loading, we recommend electronically balancing
the two load cells. Balancing is completed during the initial start-up, but should be
repeated if either load cell is replaced or reinstalled. See the associated integrator
manual to complete the balancing procedure.
When balancing load cells, apply a calibration weight to the extreme sides (side A and B)
as required. During this procedure, support the calibration weight with the calibration
weight arm.

With balancing completed, permanently fix the calibration weight arm toward the center
of the idler on the most accessible side of the conveyor.
