Overview

The BKNW-25 DV Interface Box
serves as a signal converter when
connected to a DV/DVCAM
camcorder and a DNW-A220/A220P/
A75/A75P/A25/A25P Digital
Videocassette Recorder.
The BKNW-25 converts the audio/
video signal input from the DV
connector of the DV/DVCAM
camcorder to an SDI signal
conforming to SMPTE-259M/ITU-R
BT.656-3, then outputs the signal to
the digital videocassette recorder.
By providing RS-422A ˜ LANC
conversion, it also allows simple
editing to be done with the DV/
DVCAM camcorder as a player.

1) LANC l
LANC is an abbreviation for Local Application Control bus system, a bi-directional
communication protocol developed by Sony for video equipment control. It is mainly provided on
Sony consumer video equipment to allow the control of multiple VCRs with a single remote
controller or synchronized operations using multiple VCRs. The LANC connector is referred to as
LANC, CONTROL-L, or REMOTE, depending on the model of the video equipment.

Features

Digital signal conversion
The BKNW-25 converts a compressed
audio/video signal input from the DV
connector of a DV/DVCAM
camcorder into an SDI signal
conforming to SMPTE-259M/ITU-R
BT.656-3. It then outputs the signal to
a VCR. All processing is digital to
digital.
Note
1)
The BKNW-25 does not convert SDI
signals to DV signals.
Simple editing
By providing RS-422A ˜ LANC
conversion, the DNW-A220/A220P/
A75/A75P/A25/A25P Digital
Videocassette Recorder can be used to
control a DV/DVCAM camcorder to
perform simple editing operations.
525/625 switching function
A switch on the connector panel
allows you to select 525/60 or 625/50
to suit the television system.
