Maintenance and cleaning

a) General information
- The current clamp does not require maintenance apart from occasional cleaning and changing the
battery.
- Under no circumstances should you service any of the components in the interior of the device. For
this reason, never open the product (except for inserting/changing the batteries as described in these
operating instructions).
- Repair or maintenance work must only be carried out by a specialist or a repair centre.
b) Cleaning
Be sure to pay attention to the following safety information before cleaning the device:
- Do not use any abrasive detergents, petrol, alcohol or other any similar chemicals. Chemicals such
as these corrode the surface of the measuring device. In addition, do not use any sharp-edged tools,
screwdrivers or metal brushes to clean the device.
- Always clean the current clamp and test leads with a clean, lint-free, antistatic and slightly damp cloth.
Let the device dry out completely before using it for the next measurement.
Regularly check the technical safety of the device and the test leads
e.g. by checking for damage on the device housing or kinks in the
cables etc.
When removing covers or parts other than those that can be removed
by hand, live parts may be exposed.
Before cleaning or repairing, the connected leads from the measuring
device and all measured objects must be disconnected. Turn the cur-
rent clamp off.
