Replace faulty silencers
Clean up any oil or fuel spills .
Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts . keep clear of the discharge opening at all times . Do not operate the
engine in a confined space where dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can collect;
Walk and never run .
Always be sure of your footing on slopes .
Do not change the engine governor settings or over-speed the engine;
Never make adjustments or repairs with the engine (motor) running . Disconnect the sparkplug wire, and keep the wire
away from the plug to prevent accidental starting .
Check regularly that nuts and bolts, especially blade attachment bolts, are fastened tightly and keep the equipment in a
good condition .
Never tamper with safety devices . Check their proper operation regularly .
Make sure that grass, leaves or other debris does not collect in the Scarifier; check regularly and remove such residues to
prevent blockage .
Stop and inspect your Scarifier if you strike any object . Repair, if necessary, before restarting . Never attempt to make wheel
height adjustments while the engine (motor) is running .
Grass catcher components (if equipped ) are subject to wear, damage and deterioration, which could expose moving parts
or allow objects to be ejected . Frequently check these components and, if necessary, replace damaged components with
parts recommended by the manufacturer .
Stop the blade(s) if the Scarifier has to be tilted for transportation when crossing surfaces other than grass, and when
transporting the lawnmower to and from the area to be scarified .
