Using an extension cable
If an extension cable is required, use an approved

Assembly and adjustment

Prior to assembly and adjustment always
unplug the tool.
Fitting sanding discs (fig. B)

WALT palm grip sander uses 5" (126 mm)

Velcro sanding discs with an 8 hole dust extraction
pattern.
• Place the sander on a table, sanding pad (7) up.
• Place the sanding disc directly on top of the
sanding pad.

electronic speed control dial (2) with 5 positions.
Generally, harder materials require a higher setting.
The correct setting, however, is a matter of
experience.
Dust extraction
Since woodworking with a sander produces dust,
always install the dust collector or connect a
vacuum extractor designed in compliance with the
applicable Directives regarding dust emission.
Proper dust extraction will only be achieved with
perforated abrasive.

• Attach the dust collector (3) with the vacuum

extractor adaptor (4) to the spout (5).

• For efficient dust extraction empty the dust

collector when it is about one third full.

• To empty the dust collector, pull it off together

with the adaptor (4) and separate both parts.

• Gently empty the dust collector (3) and shake out
the adaptor (4).
• If necessary, use a vacuum extractor to clean the
dust collector, applying suction to the interior
surface.
Vacuum extractor (fig. D)
• Remove the dust collector (3) by rotating it and
pulling it firmly off the vacuum extractor adaptor (4).
• Attach the vacuum extractor hose to the vacuum
extractor adaptor (4).
Do not use a dust collector or vacuum
extractor without proper spark protection
when sanding metal.
Do not sand magnesium!
