STEP 5: MOUNTING THE BICYCLE ON THE BICYCLE
CARRIER ATTACHMENT
CAUTION
If necessary, ask a second person for help
when loading bikes onto your roof bike rack.
Open the frame holder of the retaining bracket by turning
the knob nut counter-clockwise. Clamp the retaining
bracket down and place it over the wheel rail. Place the
bike in the wheel rail with the front wheel on the side of
the retaining bracket with the base plate. Push the bike
into the wheel rail backwards until you can lift up the
retaining bracket in front of the bicycle frame. Adjust the
angle of the retaining bracket so that it forms a right angle
with the bicycle frame. Now push the bike forward until
the frame is in the frame holder of the retaining bracket.
Close the frame holder by turning the knob nut clockwise.
Make sure that the tube of the frame is securely enclosed
by the jaws of the frame holder. Now tighten the knob nut.
Fasten the bike wheels by placing the tension belts around
the wheel rail and the wheel of your bike and then tighten
the belts.
CAUTION
A second tension belt must be used to
secure the front wheel from rotating. For this
purpose the front wheel is securely fastened
to the wheel rail at another location.
