Lubrication

If a linear unit is always used at the same site with short strokes (<100 mm) only, sufficient
lubrication is not always ensured. In this case, make the unit move over the entire positioning
range of the guide system at regular intervals after approx. 250 to 500 double strokes.
During operation occasionally visually inspect the linear unit to ensure that it is working
properly.
The following factors are important for exact determination of the lubrication intervals:
load

 speed
 movement sequence
temperature

ambient conditions

Short lubrication intervals are necessary in the case of:
dust and humidity

great load

 high speed (up to V
short strokes

lubricant with poor ageing stability

The mechanical components must be lubricated through the lubricating nipples on the power
bridge by means of a grease gun and in accordance with the table below. The sealing strip
should also be regreased in order to prevent premature wear.
Should the linear unit be used under exceptional conditions, we should be pleased to
give exact information concerning lubrication. In this case please contact your
supplier or contact Tollo Linear AB directly.

The spindle bearings (fixed and movable bearings) require no maintenance.
Lubrication of the screw drive in the WBE 40 linear unit is only possible when the
sealing strip is lifted.
