5.1 MAINTENANCE PLAN - Summary table

If these operations are done carefully, it will be to the total advantage of the user because when work is recommenced, he will find
the equipment in perfect conditions.

USE AND MAINTENANCE
- Grease all parts indicated by transfer nr. 15 ('GRASE') at page 47 of this leaflet.
- After the first hours of work check that all the bolts are still tight.
- Check the tightness of the bolts on the listers (C-D, Fig. 54).
- Make sure that the transmission rotates freely without any interferences.
- Operate the empty machine, the air-flow frees the pipes from condensation and removes
eventual impurities (Fig. 55).
- Check the tightness of the bolts on the listers (C-D, Fig. 54).
- Clean the distributor carefully and thoroughly (see cap. 3.4).
- Thoroughly clean the entire distribution head (Fig. 56) as follows:
• loosen and remove the wing nuts (E);
• remove the cover on the distributor (F);
• clean metal parts with a brush and plastic parts with a cloth;
• put the cover back in place and close it with the wing nuts.
- Grease the row marker arm pin (Fig. 57).
At the end of the season, or if a long period of rest is for seen it is advisable:
1) Carefully empty all the seed from the hopper and distribution assÕy (see cap. 4.11.1).
2) Clean the equipment, the tank and the metering unit especially, with a large amount of water.
Then, dry it using jets of air.
3) Carefully check worn or damaged parts and replace if necessary.
4) Make sure that the metering unit can rotate without excessive efforts. Check the bearings, if
necessary.
5) Tighten all screws and bolts.
6) Spread lubricant on all the parts not painted (Fig. 58).
7) Protect the equipment with a (nylon) cover.
8) Then put it in a dry place, do not move it and where it is out of reach of un authorized people.
