Only for DZR duct fans:
In order to prevent the transfer of vibrations to the
duct system, we recommend the use of flexible
couplings (MAICO types EL and ELA-Ex), feet (FU)
and vibration dampers (GP).

The fan must be secured against falling and against
foreign bodies being drawn into the air channel
using, for example, a protective screen with the
IP 20 degree of protection according to EN 60529.
•
Secure the unprotected sides of the fan in the air
channel/channel openings according to the safety
regulations of EN 294 so that you can protect
yourself against contact with the impeller.

Connecting duct and terminal box
The connecting duct between mains and the termi-
nal box must be permanently installed to relieve
the cable gland. For types DZQ, DZS and DZD, this
also applies to the cable between the motor and
the terminal box that was attached at the factory.
The fan must not be operated without a terminal
box.
Use a shared non-metallic-sheathed cable for the
motor voltage and the PTC thermistor connection.
Free, unconnected wire ends are to be insulated.
All the wires of the connecting duct must be
designed for the rated voltage U
wire cross-section of at least 1 mm².
Data of the cable gland and the end plug on the
terminal box:
– Cable gland M 25x1.5:
Torques: connection thread: 3.0 Nm,
pressing screw: 2.0 Nm.
Terminal size with/without included sealing ring:
7 mm - 12 mm / 10 mm - 17 mm.
– Stopping plug M 25x1.5:
Torque: 1.5 Nm – 2.0 Nm

Protective earth terminal
The protective earth terminal on the mains side is
located in the terminal box. A terminal is located on
the outside of the fan; you can use this to provide the
protective earth terminal of your duct system.

Air flow direction, direction of rotation
At the factory, the fan has been switched in such a
manner that it produces the largest possible airstream
performance when it is connected to mains, as
shown in the connection circuit diagram (Fig. 2). In
the standard model, this results in the rotation and
airstream directions shown in Tab. 2.
