reassemble the saw blade.
WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of the main housing with dry
air as often as dirt is seen collecting in and around the air vents.
Wear approved eye protection and approved dust mask when
performing this procedure.
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for
cleaning the non-metallic parts of the tool. These chemicals
may weaken the materials used in these parts. Use a cloth
dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid
get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a
liquid.

CLEANING AND MAINTAINING THE KERF PLATE (FIG. 15)
Regularly clean the area below the kerf plate. If the kerf plate is worn, it must
be replaced.
To Clean the Kerf Plate
1. Raise the saw head to its highest position.
2 Remove the screws (a8) holding the kerf plate (j).
3. Remove the kerf plate and clean the area below.
4. Re-install the kerf plate.
5. Hand tighten the screws.
CLEANING THE WORKLIGHT LENS (FIG 16A–16F)
For the best worklight (a9) performance, perform the following maintenance
regularly.
• Carefully clean sawdust and debris from worklight lens with a cotton
swab.
• DO NOT use solvents of any kind; they may damage the lens.
• Dust build-up can block the worklight and prevent it from accurately
indicating the line of cut.
To Remove Worklight
1. Raise the saw bench table to its highest position then raise the saw
head to its highest position.
2. Turn the black sleeve (a10) a 1/4 turn anti-clockwise to disassemble.
3. Unplug the wire (a11) to the worklight.
4. Remove the screws (a12) using the T30 star wrench.
5. Slide the LED aluminium housing out then down past the underside of
the table.
6. Clean the worklight lens (a13) with a cotton swab.
7. Re-install the LED aluminum housing to the table.
8. Reassemble the worklight by following the above steps in reverse order.

Lubrication

Lubrication may only be needed in the link slot (fig. 18).
If the saw head movement is not smooth or seems sticky during a mitre cut,
proceed as follows:
1. Unplug the saw.
2. Remove the blade (refer to Changing the Saw Blade).
3. Clean the link slot (a15) (located behind the spindle) of dust and wood
chips, then add several drops of lubricant into the slot.
4. Check if movement is smoother.
5. Reassemble the blade.

Optional Accessories

WARNING: Since accessories, other than those offered by
Berner, have not been tested with this product, use of such
accessories with this tool could be hazardous. To reduce the
risk of injury, only Berner-recommended accessories should be
used with this product.
DUST COLLECTION PORT (FIG. 10)
WARNING! Whenever possible, connect a dust extraction
device designed in accordance with the relevant regulations
regarding dust emission.
The 243306 is supplied with three dust collection ports.
Connect a dust collection device designed in accordance with the relevant
regulations. The air velocity of externally connected systems shall be 20 m/s
±2 m/s. Velocity to be measured in the connection tube at the point of
connection, with the tool connected but not running.
SAW BLADES
ALWAYS USE noise reduced 305 mm (12") SAW BLADES WITH 30 mm
ARBOUR HOLES. SPEED RATING MUST BE AT LEAST 3500 RPM.
Never use a smaller diameter blade. It will not be guarded properly.
Use crosscut blades only! Do not use blades designed for fast ripping,
combination blades or blades with hook angles in excess of 5°.

Protecting the Environment

Separate collection. This product must not be disposed of with
normal household waste.
Should you find one day that your Berner product needs replacement, or if it
is of no further use to you, do not dispose of it with household waste. Make
this product available for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and packaging allows
materials to be recycled and used again. Re-use of recycled
materials helps prevent environmental pollution and reduces the
demand for raw materials.
Local regulations may provide for separate collection of electrical
products from the household, at municipal waste sites or by the retailer
when you purchase a new product.
Berner provides a facility for the collection and recycling of Berner products
once they have reached the end of their working life. To take advantage of
this service please return your product to any authorised repair agent who
will collect them on our behalf.
