GENERAL REMARKS

The MW 2600 / 2600 CEL / 3000 (AC/DC) or TT 2600 / 2600 CEL
/ 3000 (DC) welding rectifier is designed as a primary transistor-
switched welding machine. The product of further development-
work on transistor-controlled welding machinery, it is especially
well-suited to TIG manual, automated and manual electrode
welding with both DC and AC . The unit's compact dimensions, low
weight and very modest power consumption are real advantages
in its favour, both in the production and repair fields. Furthermore,
Up/Down control (continuous regulation of the welding current
from the torch trigger) is also integrated as standard.

MACHINE CONCEPT

Features such as its powder-coated sheet-steel housing, the way
its controls are protected by a plastic frame, and its bayonet-
latching current sockets all testify to the high quality of its design.
Thanks to its insulated carrying handle, the machine is easy to
move around - both in the factory and out in the field.
FUNCTIONAL SEQUENCE
The voltage from the mains power supply is rectified. A rapid
transistor switching device inverts this DC voltage using a fre-
quency of 80 kHz. The welding transformer produces the required
working voltage, which is rectified and fed to the output sockets.
An electronic controller adjusts the power-source characteristic
to suit the pre-selected welding process.

START-UP - GENERAL NOTES

Warning! Electrical jobs of any kind, including changing
the fuses on the power-supply board or fitting or re-fitting
the mains plug, may only be carried out by a qualified
electrician.
You can run the MW 2600 / 2600 CEL / 3000 (AC/DC) or TT 2600
/ 2600 CEL / 3000 (DC) on a mains voltage of 3x400V . A special
version of the MW2600 is available for 3x220V. An upstream
electronic feedback control automatically "tunes" the machine to
the mains voltage supplied. This voltage must lie within the voltage
tolerance range shown in Fig.1a.

Note! TIG welding using high frequency (HF) may
cause external interference. The high frequency (used
for contact-free ignition of the start-arc) can interfere
with the operation of insufficiently shielded computer
equipment, EDP centres, industrial robots etc., even
causing these systems to break down completely. Also,
TIG welding may interfere with telephone networks and
with radio and TV reception.
Warning! If the machine is designed for a special voltage,
the technical data on the rating plate apply!
Warning! The mains plugs must correspond to the mains
voltage and current consumption of the machine (see
Technical data)!
Warning! The fuse protection of the mains supply lead
must be sufficient for the current consumption of the
welding machine!
Warning! Never attempt to use the machine for thawing
frozen pipes!
